"Miss Parker if you could pay attention to what I'm saying, I'd appreciate it" Mr Reid, my AP English teacher, calls snapping me out of my sleepy daze. Just as he got back to talking about the importance of punctuation the bell rang signalling break. I rushed out of room E18 and to my dented orange locker. Putting in the combination and giving it a light smack I opened the door and mechanically put the first three period's books back to where they belong. Taking the pizza slice, closing the door I turned my head and let out a screech "Oh my God, Phoenix you can't scare people like that!" I whisper shout at the petite ginger.
"Anywho what happened with you and Oliver last night?" Her Texan accent shining through.
"What n-n-nothing" I try to defend but I know shell end up not believing me in any case. She gives me a strange look but drops it in any case.

Lunch was uneventful, except that Liam was staring at me like a stalker all through break and fourth period. I'm currently walking home because Alec has football practice and Pheonix has cheerleading practice, and I don't drive. I was pretty shocked I mean the girl doesn't even wear makeup yet she is a cheerleader.
"Mother fucker" a piercing pain shoots throughout my left leg, great more scars,
"Need a ride?" a voice says as a black convertible pulls up beside me, great, its Liam, just what I need right now.
"No I'm good thanks." I mutter staring at the six inch long piece of glass sticking out my leg. I try to move but fail.
"I don't care what you say" he says as he swoops me up and puts me in the passenger seat before buckling me in. I know struggling won't be any help so I cross my arms over my chest and huff. I knew he was taking me to his house because his dad is a paediatrician and has stitched me up many times before.
After a 12 minute drive from the side of the road we arrive at a huge property with a white picket fence in front of a lush green lawn that sits around a white all American house. I notice the post-box that said THE CARTERS with seven sets of handprints around it. Liam scooped me up and walked on the allocated path and up the two steps. As he walked through the hallway I stare at the pictures, some contain pictures of me and them but most of the family of seven alone. One picture in particular stood out to me, it was taken on the beach back home in Cali. It was the day before he left the calm before the storm. Liam has four siblings; Maia, Mia, Mackena and Maxine. Mackena and Maxine are his two older sisters; Maia and Mia are his younger twin sisters. Mackena is twenty four and is a nurse, she has chocolate brown hair with dark brown eyes, and it contrasts so nicely with her pale skin. Maxine is twenty two and is currently in her last year of teachers college; she has more of a caramel hair colour with the same deep brown eyes. The twins are turning 13 this year, they are identical twins but are day and night personality wise, the girls have dark brown hair and pale skin with light blue eyes the difference between Maia and Mia. Is that Mia has light freckles dotted across her nose and cheeks, they're both pretty active. Maia is the quieter one of the two; she prefers painting or sketching than going to a party she and is co-captain of the volleyball team alongside Mia who is the social butterfly even from a young age she never shied away from anything or anyone. Mia is the cheer captain of the Key West Junior School. Both girls are girly but Maia is trendier and Mia is more hipster. I've missed the girls.
"Adalynne, you spaced out for a while there." Liam is waving his hand in front of my face I hadn't realised it but we had gotten to his dads office and had set me down on the table thing. "We need cut your pants off for my dad to get the glass out are that okay with you?" he asks, I nod slowly, I mean like my jeans were already obliterated , dirty, torn, bloody so why not, it's not like Liam hasn't seen me in less and his dad is a professional. His dad starts cutting around the glass shard. "So, Adalynne, how's it going at school?" Liam's dad asks pulling out another shard of glass out of my leg. After about 45minutes and four stitches later I find myself standing in Liam's room waiting for him to hand me a pair of his sweatpants.
"Here" he says as he hands me a pair of grey sweats. I carefully pull my jeans off over the stitches and off my body. I pull the oversized pants on and tie the drawstrings tightly around my waist. Just as Liam opens his mouth I hear the front door slam shut. "MOM DAD WE PICKED THE GIRLS UP!" An eerily familiar voice yells at the front door
