Those memories are different from what you remember

"Do you have any idea what you're doing," a small voice whispered from beside the seemingly lifeless body of Ponya. Luna was crouched over just enough to see the white star on her dress. It was now stained red from blood that wasn't even her own. She was crying from those solid white eyes, each tear not clear but as murky as a drop of milk.

"You shouldn't cry for her. You are all being saved." I try to reassure.

"Do you really think these tears are for her?" Luna climbs to her feet, wobbly like a doll that was being suspended by strings. She hesitates for a moment and smiles as wide as she possibly could.

"I'm sad for you."

The girl falls forward into the tall grass, hitting the ground with a thud. For a second everything was still and silent.

"We can't stop now," Corro whispered, "we still need to find Day."

I nodded knowing what was going to happen. This was it. The final stretch towards my goal and saving everyone. Something inside just told me that I had to go to that same beach in which I had first met Day.

~

The bamboo lined path was the same as ever, stretching higher than my reach and blocking the little morning light from entering in the natural path. I tried to listen to hear the sound of the crashing waves or smell the sea salt, but I couldn't. Were my senses dulled? What is going on? The beach was right in front of me, but there was no noise at all. No sound from the tide, no wind, nothing.

"I've been looking for you.,"

I whipped my head around to see Day sitting in the sand just a few metres from me.

"I guess we both had the same thought to come to this beach huh?" He grinned.

My body lost all control again as I flew towards him. I swung my blade towards him with every bit of strength that I had. I didn't want anything except for this man to be dead. I closed my eyes as our swords clashed. I didn't realize how quickly he had countered my attack as the impact forced me backward.

"You need to keep going." Corro echoed.

I ran at him again, feeling blind with rage.

"Lynn, why are you doing this!" Day shifted his feet in the sand, his face already ridden with sweat.. The panic in his voice satisfied me.

"You think that you could just use me?! Kill more people than you already have?!" I swung the sword and missed dramatically as he dodged.

"I won't be a tool of your mass destruction." For every attack I pursued, Day dodged with ease. For some reason he wasn't trying to fight back in the slightest.

"I can't let you kill any more innocent people!" Beads of sweat were now dripping down my forehead. I can't quit now, not without completing my task.

"Do you really think I was using you!?" Day screamed, pushing harder against my blows., "Why would I want to use someone as useless as you?! What has gotten into you that makes you think that you can kill me?!" Without any sign, he kicked into my stomach, knocking me into the sand. He didn't try to pursue as I stuck the tip of my blade into the beach to help myself up.

"Do you really think I would try to repeat the mistakes of my past? This is crazy. You're crazy. My life would've been so much easier if only you had never been here! I should've killed you at the start when I had the chance!" The words were spat out of Days mouth and hit me as if they were knives.

"This is it, Lynn, unleash yourself on this waste of life."

My skin began to tingle like a thousand tiny needles were poking into me. The amethyst sword still stuck into the ground was raised into the air in front of me. I grabbed the handle and let all the energy in my body transfer into the blade. My feet were no longer touching the sand, but now hovering a few inches above. I raised the sword behind my head and swung down. A moment of true happiness came over me as I saw the expression of true horror covering of a person with a face of usual intimidation. A beam of light flashed from the tip and sliced into Day's body knocking him to the ground. Sparks danced from his body as I descended from the air.

"I've won." The words seem so liberating and real. "We've won."
