Dom had taken a nervous Harley back down to the team and gotten her to tell them who Owen was to her. He felt terrible for her - two people she loves are involved in that team and only one of them has a chance of being free once caught. Owen Shaw had done way too much damage and broken too many laws for him to be let go. Dom knew that, and he knew Harley knew that as well. Harley was determined to ignore that fact and instead focus on getting to her brother, having a face to face conversation and hope to dear god he gets himself out. The last thing she wants to do is call Deckard.
The team had taken it surprisingly well that she's related to the man they've been handed the task of hunting down. Likely because of her close relationship with Letty, they know she wouldn't do anything to screw it up. Hobbs had been a little less carefree about the situation, immediately going on alert and jumping to the conclusion that she could be helping her brother. Riley was strangely one of the people defending the blonde, pointing out that it'd be incredibly stupid of Harley to reveal she knew Shaw if she's working for him. So the cop only warned her that she better not let any of that cloud her judgement, Owen had still done wrong. Something she agreed to but silently knew she'd remain thinking otherwise. It was hard to see Owen as this huge villain when all he's ever been is a brother to her. Dom also hadn't taken too kindly to the threat, quickly showing his protective nature.
Harley shakes her head as she looks around her. Night had fallen and they were at a location one of Owen's guys had given Hobbs. The plan was to send him in with a wire, then once he was identified the cops would storm the place. It was a ridiculously stupid plan. They were majorly underestimating the blonde's older brother which is something she tried to reiterate several times; however, Hobbs and Riley thought they knew best. Smart move to ignore the one person in the group who knows Owen Shaw best - not. Hobbs had even said Harley would know best once the news died down, he said Harley could prove useful when planning this stuff out. And now he and every other cop was ignoring what she was telling them. It had pissed her off to say the least, probably more considering her current predicament.
Her blue eyes watched over the people getting into position, the seriousness on everyone's faces. It was almost laughable to her. This plan was about to fail spectacularly; her brother wasn't stupid and he'd know the cops were here. Hell, even Harley would know they were here if she were in his position. Owen's smart, even though she hated to admit it, smarter than her; this was all going to blow up.
"Harley, can I talk to you?" Brian appears at the blonde's side, distracting her from the mass of people around. Harley glances over at the ex cop, features softening from the hardened look she'd been shooting almost everyone else outside of the team. She glances back at the scene below, seeing a member of her brother's crew enter the building. Watching wasn't going to going to give her any surprises. It was obvious her brother would escape - only question was how.
"Sure." Harley smiles, walking with him away from the group and leaning against his car.
"What's up?" She asks him, tugging her jumper down slightly to stop the breeze getting to her."You and Mia are close, right? Tell each other anything?" Brian asks, nerves evident in his tone and body language. The way his eyes dart around before meeting her eyes, the signature tell of him rubbing the back of his neck. The woman in front of her takes all of this in, raising an eyebrow in questioning.
"Yeah..." Harley trails off, unsure of where exactly this conversation is going.
"Is everything alright?" She presses when he seems lost for words."I don't know. Just before we left, I was getting Jack ready for bed. And I was putting his diaper in the trash when I found something." Harley completely tenses as he speaks, thinking of where she'd been just a few days before. They'd been putting Jack to sleep before Harley took the tests and she was now mentally cursing herself for not making sure she'd put them away properly. She gulps, keeping her collected composure as she looks at the man in front of her.
