Adrenaline begins to pump through Harley's veins as it always does when they're in the middle of a job, part excitement and anxiety spreading through her like a wildfire. As much as she's happy with the quiet life she has, she'd admit a small part of her had missed getting in on the action. It'd be great if everyone's end goal wasn't to go after her brother though.
Snapping back to reality she notices the cars ahead changing formation, they move from single file and driving in pairs. That's a clear enough sign that they've been noticed. Although the biggest sign is when the back two cars open fire on them, bullets creating cracks in windows as they each swerve to avoid them. If they had normal windows then it definitely would have taken a severe turn.
Brian takes a sharp left, moving from the paved road and onto the dirt. Branches break off on the windows as he fights to keep in control. All the while Harley holds onto her seat, trusting that he can keep them safe here.
"Tej, shield!" Dom shouts.
"I'm on my way." Tej tells him, driving through the middle to be at the front of their line up. There are some perks to making a bulletproof car.
"Is there a reason I was put in this car?" Charlie calls out to no one in particular, obviously regretting not jumping in with Letty or Dom.
"Alright, formation!" Dom orders. Brian gets directly behind Tej, Letty behind them, followed by Dom. The latter tells them to punch it, driving ahead to bump the back of Letty's car which is replicated by all of them until it's Brian's turn to hit Tej.
With that added force, Tej drives on full speed ahead at the shooters. Both of the cars are hit and are pushed out of the way, disappearing into the trees. The action doesn't slow them down and instead they carry on to the two cars now blocking their access to the bus. Tej hits them and they flip over several times, leaving the road free.
"Yes." Harley beams, hitting the door happily. She didn't have it in her to feel bad for whoever had been driving those cars - they'd kidnapped an innocent person.
"Ready, Harls?" Brian asks the blonde and she nods, grabbing the gun on the ground that would plant an explosive. Brian drives to the side of the bus so she can carry out her part of the plan. She winds down the window, squinting as she aims it at the side of the bus.
Bingo!
The joyful feeling lasts all of a second before the blondes both go wide eyed. Compartments of the large vehicle begin to slide upwards, three machine guns turning to aim at them.
"Shit!" Harley exclaims, winding the window back up
"Those aren't guns, those are goddamn cannons. Armour piercing rounds!" Tej shouts over the gunfire. They veer to the side in an attempt to miss the bullets, holding back and staying behind Dom and Letty.
