Barry talked me into going to Starling City with him for a case he was interested in. I figured I would take the time to visit with Laurel. I haven't seen her in person since Sara died. I was looking forward to it.
We got off the train and it was raining. I pulled my hood up and Barry used a magazine to cover himself.
"Told you to bring a jacket or something." I told him as we hurried through the station.
"Shut up Becs. Keep moving. We need to hurry."
~o~
After a hell of a time getting to the scene, and Barry getting completely soaked, we arrived just in time for Barry to start jumping in.
"The rest of the crew must have come in after him."
"Actually it was only one guy." Barry said as we hurried inside. "Sorry we're late. Actually our train was late-"
"Well the second one." I said and Barry glared at me.
"The first one we missed but that was the cab drivers fault."
"Bar, you're rambling." I looked over at everyone and noticed Oliver. I was happy to hear he was alive. I only wished I could have come and seen him. I got the feeling he didn't remember me though.
"Right. But we're here now though, so."
"Great. So who the hell are you?" The lead officer asked.
"And do your parents know you're here?" Oliver asked and I started to laugh a little, drawing the attention to myself. "Do I know you?"
"I'm Rebecca Allen. This is my brother Barry."
"We're from the Central City Police Department." Barry said grabbing his identification. "I'm with the crime scene investigation unit. Becca is with their technology department." He motioned over to me and I showed them mine with a smile. "We're working on a case with some similar unexplained elements in Central City, so when the report of your robbery came over the wire, my captain sent me here."
"I came to help with the equipment." I said. Oliver just looked at the both of us.
"You think one guy ripped through this door like it was tin foil?" The officer asked Barry.
"One very strong guy, yes. Uh it takes 1250 foot pounds of torque to break someone's neck." Barry started getting his tablet out with the picture of the victims. "See the marks on the guard's neck? The bruising patterns suggest the killer used only one hand. I'm guessing you don't know how hard it is to break someone's neck."
"Hm? No. No idea." Oliver said. Something told me he was lying. I could still tell when Oliver was lying.
"Uh, we're gonna need a list of the entire inventory here to figure out what was stolen." A man behind Oliver said.
"Actually we think we know what was stolen." I said and everyone turned back to us. "A centrifuge. An industrial centrifuge. Probably the cord enterprises 2BX 900." We started leading them over to what we were talking about.
"Maybe the six series." Barry said. "Both have a three column base. Here you can see the three sets of broken bolts where the thief just ripped it right out of the ground."
"And what exactly is a centrifuge?" The officer asked.
"It separates liquids." The blonde girl explained it to the officer. Of course Barry had to jump in and finish her explanation. "What did you say your name was again?"
"Barry. Allen."
"Felicity. Smoak." They smiled at each other and Oliver looked at Barry.
"Uh, you can see the cracks heading towards the door. Footsteps. One guy." Oliver knelt down. "Anyway it's just a theory."
