Absolute Zero

Chapter 6

There was a fire going on and I decided to stay back with the others. Learned the hard was fire wasn't my thing.

"Barry. Barry!" Cisco yelled at Barry as he ran past the scene.

"What? Did I miss it?" Barry asked.

"You over shot by six blocks." I told him.

"My bad." Then he took off again.

"Are you there yet?" Cisco asked after Barry was quiet for a minute.

"What are you two doing?" Caitlin asked walking in. Cisco turned the computer monitors off and turned around real quick.

"Nothing." We said.

"Who were talking to?"

"No one." We both said again.

"Are you talking to Barry?"

"Who?" Cisco asked.

"Barry Allen. Becca's brother. Struck by lightning? In a coma for nine months? Woke up being able to run faster than the speed of sound? Ring a bell?"

"No." Cisco said. Good grief. "Haven't talked to him."

"Cisco there's fire everywhere!" Barry yelled in our ears. "Cisco! Are you still there? Becca!" A moment of silence came until Barry spoke again. "Everybody's out. What else you got for me Cisco?" Caitlin then walked over to the mic.

"Barry it's Caitlin."

"Heeey Caitlin. How's your day?"

"Get back to S.T.A.R Labs. Now." She turned and glared at us.

"On my way."

As soon as Barry got back Caitlin started in on all of us.

"Have you all lost your minds? Who do you think you are?"

"The Flash and Absolute Zero?" Caitlin glared at me.

"I'm the eyes and ears, he's the feet, and she's the cold front." Cisco said.

"This isn't funny. You could have gotten yourself killed. You can't be running around the city like some supersonic fireman. Becca didn't even go with you."

"Uh that's because me and fire aren't don't go."

"Why not?" Barry asked. "This is what we talked about. Using our powers to do good."

"We talked about you both helping us contain other people who might have been affected by the particle accelerator explosion. Meta-humans. And aside from Clyde Mardon we haven't found any."

"People in this city still need help. And we can help them."

"Will you please say something?" Caitlin said and we saw she was talking to Dr. Wells as he came into the cortex.

"I think what Caitlin is saying in her own spectacularly angry way, is that we are just beginning to understand what your body is capable of. Not to sound like a broken record Mr. Allen but, I do caution restraint."

"Dr. Wells I doubt restraint is how you got to be the man you are today."

"In a wheel chair and a pariah. Lack of restraint is what made me these things. Know your limits." Then he left.

"Don't expect me to patch you up every time you break something." Caitlin said and then left with Wells.

"Well then I guess we're lucky that I have medical training." I said putting my hand on Barry's shoulder.
