Some of the content in this chapter contains depression.Alex went home after a long day of school. She decided to take a shower. She liked showers, she liked the warm water flowing over all her body and letting her feel relax and to let the warmth fill the cold loneliness she feels inside. She loves the shower, it is the one place where no one can disturb her.
After a long shower Alex got changed into a sweat shirt and sweat pants. She curled up in her bed and let her eyes fall heavy and she was soon fast asleep.
After about a 3 hour nap Alex woke up to her phone going crazy with texts and calls from John. Alex just ignored all the texts and messages he had left and she turned off her phone. She then realized that her mom would be home. So she went downstairs to hopefully see her mom.
Alex and her mom aren't really close mainly because her mom works all the time. Elizabeth hardly has enough time to have a good conversation with Alex not because she doesn't really the time to talk she just doesn't want to.
To Alex's dismay her mom was already home and didn't tell her. She just left a note that said " going out see you later" not an "I love you" or anything.
On days like this Alex feels worthless. She just wants to sit and cry. She can't understand why no one loves her. She is good at trying to hide the pain but sometimes it just becomes to much, so she sleeps a lot. She sleeps because she can finally be at peace with her mind and soul. Sleeping is a healer for her.
She couldn't go back to sleep so she decided to go for a run. She went upstairs to change into her running gear. She slipped on her shoes and just started running when she got outside. She didn't really know where she was going but she knew she just wanted to get away. She didn't want to feel the pain anymore, she didn't want to feel like or think what she was thinking.
After a while Alex tasted salt. She then realized she was crying. She could feel her legs giving out on her, she almost hit her head on the sidewalk as she fell. She couldn't feel anything. She could only feel pain.
She could hear someone coming up to her but she didn't care she just wanted to be alone. She felt the persons arms warp around her and all of a sudden she was wrapped in warmth. She felt safe something she hasn't felt in a very long time. She guessed the person holding her was a male just because of their arm muscles. She looked up to see her best friend Mark rocking her back and forth trying to calm her down. She then looked around only to realize she ran to his house.
She ran to him. She didn't really know why but her mind was telling her to go to him. She missed Mark. She missed him so much. She loved Mark so much more than a best friend kind of way. If she could do the last year over she would have wanted to be with Mark instead of John.
John acted different from when they first started talking. He was actually nice and very loving. Now he is completely different.
Alex then realized Mark was still hugging her. She decided to pull away from the hug. She didn't want to but she wanted to see his face. She wanted to see his gorgeous blue eyes that look like the sky. She wanted to see his smile that could light up a room.
She just sat on the ground and stared at him. She wanted to kiss him but she then remembered that she was with John but she didn't care. She cared but then again she kind of didn't. She pulled Mark down to her lips and kissed him.
Mark pulled away after a few minutes.
"Are you okay?" Mark said. She could see the concern in his eyes
"Y-yeah.. I-I'm okay. I just needed to clear my head." She was mad at herself for not really being able to get the words out.
"You kissed me." At that moment Alex felt really stupid
"I'm sorry. I-I just..." her words were cut off by Mark kissing her.
For the first time in a while she felt happy. She didn't really care they were on a side walk because it didn't really matter all she cared about was that she got to kiss the guy she has liked for so long.Mark pulled away from the kiss. He blushed as they made eye contact.
Alex pulled herself up and pulled Mark into a hug. She loves his hugs way to much.
Mark offered to walk Alex home but she felt to bad that he would have to walk back to his house alone. So she walked alone.
When she reached her house and unlocked the door she realized someone was in her house.
"What are you doing here?"
