Chapter 18

When they arrived in Asgard, Steve brought Tony to the dungeon where Loki was. 

"Tony.. I want you to know he is safe. Ok?" Steve said, he knew Tony would freak out if he saw Loki in a cell.

"Okay." Tony said, looking around. They got to his cell and Steve stopped. Loki sat at his desk still writing. "L-Loki.." Tony said. Suddenly Loki's pen dropped, his head raised. "Baby.. I'm here.." He said, trying to stand up but he couldn't. 

"Tony stop trying to stand up." Steve said and basically held him down. "Loki. Please just look at him." He said. Loki sighed and turned around, as soon as he did he froze. Tony sat in the wheelchair, that didn't even look like Tony. All the color in his face was gone, he was basically skin and bones. He had oxygen tubes in his nose. That couldn't be Tony.

"T-Tony..?" Loki stuttered. 

"Loki..." Tony began to cry. Just being able to see his husband made him feel whole. Loki stood up and walked over to the glass.

"Can we get you out of here?" Steve asked. Loki smirked and pushed a few buttons from the inside and the glass moved out of the way.

"I came in this cell on my own free will. It's just a calming mechanism." Loki said as he kneeled down in front of Tony. "What happened?" He asked.

"I-I can't live without you. I need you in my life... I want to spend my life with you. I can't eat. I can't even stand on my own." Tony sobbed, Loki wrapped his arms around his husband and held him close. "Please don't go.. all I do is cry."

"Loki.. He needs you way more than you know. When he gets back he has to have feeding tubes." Steve said. Then both men looked up at Steve at the same time.

"No.. That can't be." Loki said, he focused back on Tony who was just a mess. Loki cupped Tony's cheeks, "It's going to be okay. You will get through this." He said. Tony just cried even more. 

"Please come back with us. He needs you. We all need you." Steve said. He knew that Tony couldn't be out here much longer.

Loki sighed and looked at Tony again. "Maybe I can stay for a couple days.." As soon as Loki said that Tony stopped crying. 

"Would you really do that?" Tony asked, he was out of breath again. Loki smiled and nodded, hugging his husband.

"Remember? I would do anything for you." Loki said as he stood up and looked at Steve, "Will he really need the tubes..?" Steve nodded, he waited too long to do something.  "Okay.. that will be okay. We can get through this." He gently grabbed Tony's hand and held it as they walked out and went back to Earth. They went back to the hospital and put Tony back into bed.

"Um.. We need you to leave real quick." The doctor said, Steve nodded and Loki sighed.

"I love you Tony." Loki said as they both walked out. The doctor put tubes in and checked up on Tony, asking him all of these questions. "Steve I'm scared. What if he doesn't get better?"

"He will Loki. You have to believe in him. There has already been changes since you said you'd come back. It won't be immediate but it will happen at some point. I promise" Steve reassured Loki. 

"Okay. I believe you." Loki said as the nurses and doctor walked out. "Let's go." Steve and Loki both walked into the room to find Tony laying there quietly. "Hey sweetie!"

"Hi." Tony said, he wasn't happy at all. 

"What's wrong?" Loki asked, getting worried.

"I'm a hot mess. I have to have all this shit on me because I can't take care of my fucking self." Tony said. 

"Hey. Tony it will be okay. The main thing is you are getting better. Imagine if you weren't getting any better. We would have a problem." Loki explained. The more he explained the more Tony felt better about the situation. "You are strong. You will get through this. We, will get through this. Together." Loki smiled.

"I love you so much, Loki." Tony said, "You are the best thing that's ever happened to me."

"I love you too."
