Chapter 34

Tony continued to bang on the door. "Babe please open up!! I'll explain everything!!" 

"Why did you do this to me!" Loki screamed. He cried more "Y-you should've just let me die..." 

Tony stopped and stood there. Hearing Loki says that he knew he wouldn't be happy about it but knowing Loki would rather be dead... "L-Loki... I'm sorry. I just watched you almost die and I knew I could save you" Tears formed in Tony's eyes. "I knew I could help and I wanted to help. You didn't deserve to die yet." 

"I'm a worthless piece of Stark Tech now." Loki cried. 

"N-No you're not. Stop saying that." Tony said. "You're the man of my dreams. You make me smile all the god damn time. You make me laugh over the stupid stuff. You make my heart flutter when I see you. You litter my dreams. You... you are the reason I'm living today." Tony fell to his knees and put his hand upon the door. "You make life worth living."  

Loki listened to every word Tony said. He listened and thought about when he told Tony his vows. When he poured his heart out to his dying lover. When he thought Tony was gone forever. Every word he heard Tony say made him think back. All of the memories they shared. All of the times they would lay in bed and cuddle for hours and hours. Hearing those words brought back the times when Tony kept trying. When Loki was alone and afraid when nobody would care. When nobody was left to help him. When he was taking his final breath... Tony was there. Tony helped save him. "T-Tony..." Loki whispered as he held his hand to the reactor. 

"I love you so much, Loki. I couldn't see my life without you in it. I don't know how to tell you that. I saved you because you make me want to be a better person. You give me the strength I need to get through the day. You are always there when I need you. We have been through so much together. I couldn't just let you leave. You're my best friend." Tony continued. 

"Strength..." Loki whispered. All of the strength he attempted to give Tony when Steve died. All of the strength Tony gave him when he was abandoned by his father. When he was locked up and tortured. When he was left to die. Who came to his side... Who rescued him... Tony. 

"I'll never be able to find someone like you again. Yeah, we have our differences. Yeah, we have our stupid arguments. We have our alone times. But we are perfect for each other. We compliment each other. You... you and I go perfectly together. We are both so damaged and broken... but at the same time, we gave each other so much strength to carry on every day. We gave each other so much power. We chose to not give up on one another. We chose to never let go. We... we chose to stay." The words started to jumble together. Tony cried quietly. 

Loki stood up and walked over to the door. He chose to not look in the mirror just yet. It was still too soon. He calmly opened the door and looked down at Tony. "Tony..." He dropped to his knees and hugged Tony. "I love you. I'll love you forever."

Tony hugged back. "I just can't see my life without you. I don't know how you feel but I know I can't just walk out of your life and not feel anything. I know I can't just let you leave without trying to stop you and help make everything work. I can't do that." He held on tight to Loki. The fact he can hold him again. "I  love you so much..."

"Everything will be alright... right? I'll be okay. We will be okay. I will get through this without your help of course." Loki said, trying to calm Tony down. Although this was originally about Loki, seeing Tony in pain was just too much. He needed to help. 

"I-I'll be here to help. And I will make sure you won't get hurt by the reactor. I made sure that you could continue to wear it no matter what." Tony said. He looked into Loki's eyes. "You are amazing..."

"Doubtful." Loki smiled. "And if I am it's because of you. You make me this way." 

"I love you so much," Tony said. 

"I love you too," Loki said as he cupped Tony's cheeks. "I'll love you till the day I die." He pulled Tony in slowly and kissed him.
