Sophia
"Hello, Ms. Keller. Or should I say, princess." A chill goes through my spine, every last hair on my body standing up.
"What... What do you want?" I quiver, barely getting the words out.
"I want you gone. How is dinner going with your little boyfriend and his friends?"
My eyes widen. "Where.. where are you? Why do you keep doing this too me? You already had me once."
"Don't worry about that. You ruined my fun once. If you thought the first time was the end, it's wasn't. The beginning starts now. Watch your back. Tell your boyfriend I said hello and how lucky he is to have you, but to enjoy the time with you, because it's almost over." The phone line goes dead.
My body can't move. I look around, everyone silent, staring at me.
"Soph? Baby, what's wrong?" Jay shakes my shoulder, grabbing my cellphone. "Who called you?" He holds it up, waiting for an answer.
"Carter. The.. the fun is just beginning.. He.. he knows we are here. He sees us." I barely get the words out, they're stinging like a taser.
"Soph? Carter- Carter called you." Jay dials a number in his phone, from the sounds of it, sounding like McGarrett.
"Your food." The waiter gives us all of our food, quickly becoming uncomfortable and leaving.
"Jay..." I trail, my body barely functioning.
"Soph? Soph, what did he say? McGarrett is on his way." Jay protectively places his arm around my shoulder, his grip almost suffocating me.
"Your time with me is almost up, enjoy it while it lasts. This is the beginning, he wants me gone." I stare blankly into my burrito, the grilled chicken suddenly strikes a wave of nausea.
"Soph, you aren't going anywhere. You're safe. I won't let him hurt you, even if it kills me." Jay caresses my back, trying to calm me. "Eat your burrito. Nothing will happen."
I pick up my fork, cut my burrito up and shove a piece into my mouth, attempting to push the thoughts away.
"Who was that?" Cole looks around the booth, the situation confusing him.
I look at Jay, and knowing me as well as he does, he covers for me. "Carter. Carter Yates. He is one of the two people who abducted Sophia. He is the one who was abusive to her. He got out on bail, never showed for court. He wants to.... to... to hurt her, and that was him on the phone." Jay continues to rub my back, distressed himself.
I nod my head, my stomach not wanting Mexican anymore. "Can I get a box for later, my stomach can't take this right now."
Jay nods, asking the waiter for a box and he comes back with four boxes, one for each of us, and an additional box for our chips and dip.
"Sophia, Jay." I look up, my eyes discovering Steve, Danny, and two other officers standing at our table.
"He's not here. How could he know you are here? How does he have your number?" Danny speaks, his hands very animated.
" I.. I'm not sure. What if he hacked the computer system. That means he has my schedule and personal information. My family! He could be after them." My whole world melts. He could kill my family.
"We will have two unmarked cars parked in front of your house twenty four seven. Don't worry. All four of you need to come with us, we are going to get you back to your rooms, it's not safe here." Steve and one of the officers motion for Jay and I to get in the back of the car, Jay never letting go of me, the feeling of threat being present for him.
