“Was there ever going to be a day without worry? Without a reason to be afraid.” Mike thought to himself as El was fast asleep. The only thing he really wanted was for her to never have to leave but that alone seemed impossible, seemed like a crazy thought but still he couldn’t help but wish she wouldn’t sacerfice herself for him. Mike smiled as he began picking up El’s hands, softly caressing the top of them. His heart started to beat faster an faster thinking of all these cheesy things he could do if she was awake. He looked at El with a smile an watched as she began opening her eyes. “Hey you.” He smiled. “Hey Mike.” She chuckled, blushing lightly. Mike wanted this moment to last forever, safe an peaceful without worry of the Upside down. “Hey um..E-el do you think we can go make Eggo’s together?” He asked. El looked at him with a dorky smile, swaying back an forth at just the mentioning of eggo’s. “Hmmhm!” She nodded. Mike smiled as well an tugged on her arm. “Okay well let’s go then!” He said wanting to rush upstairs. She got up an was pulled upstairs. For the first time in a long time Mike felt safe, he felt as though things were going to be alright because all the bad thoughts were hidden away by just spending time with El. For once the world didn’t seem so heavy an his mind was clear. He walked behind El an hugged her from behind. “So are you ready to make some eggo’s?” He smiled. “Yes!” She jumped alittle. Mike let go an walked towards the fridge moving stuff around to finally finding the eggo’s an he pulled the box out an showed it to El an her face lit up, happiness in her eyes was the only thing he ever wanted to see. He handed the box to El an she began opening it, seeing the eggo’s all frozen she dropped them on the floor but luckily none of them spilled out. Mike chuckled alittle. “What happened to them?! Why are they frozen?” She asked with concern. Mike turned to face her after picking the eggo’s up from the floor. “Well, everything Is cold before you cook it, you cook things so they become warm. You cant eat things that are frozen.” He chuckled more turning the toaster on an putting to eggo’s in for El an then he’d let her put two in for him. “Oh I never knew that.” She looked down. Mike turned to her. “Well El there Is a lot you don’t really know but I will teach you with time.” He smiled. El smiled an walked towards him wrapping her arms around him an laying her head on his shoulder. She caressed his arm with her thumb moving it side to side as the smell of Eggo’s filled the room. Mike began rubbing her back as he remembered that Eggo’s was the first thing El ever ate while being with him. “Eggo’s was the first thing you ate when I brought you home, do you remember how you acted when I first gave them to you?” He raised his eyebrows. “She looked to him. “I remember first licking the Eggo an then not long after making the whole thing disappear.” She chuckled. The toaster then popped an Mike reached to grab the eggo’s. He then grabbed a plate an set them down on the table. El then grabbed the box an put two more eggo’s in for Mike. Mike watched as she smiled, doing something she knew an was already getting quite used to.
5 Minutes later~ Mike an El are both sitting side by side at the table eating the eggo’s they made for eachother. Mike leaned close to her. “Have you ever tried putting syrup on them?” He asked. She shakes her head. “No, should I have?” she asked. “Well no its more of an optional thing but it is really good.” He shook his head agreeing with himself. El looked at him with a cheesy smile an leaned over an kissed him, Mike’s eyes widening in surprise. “Eggo Kiss we should call it” El chuckled. “Y-yeah, I like that.” He blushed. “Hey Mike?” He looked to her. “Yeah El?” She sighed. “ I won’t go, I won’t fight this time.” She nodded, his eyes welling up with tears he hugged her tight. “Eggo Promise?” He cried softly. “Eggo promise.” She chuckled. “Is that what we are calling it now?” Mike chuckled. “Well since you did it I thought I would give it a try, you like it?” He asked. El lay’s a hand on his shoulder. “I Eggo love it Mike.” She smiled. “And I eggo love you El.” He blushed.
