The room filled with colorful lights an kids danced around us. It was the night of the snowball, a dance I promised I’d take El to. In a room filled with many people I only focused on her, everyone else seemed to fade into black but she was perfectly in color. Clear as day I watched the lights move in her eyes, the way they spoke of such beauty an secrets to unfold. With one hand on her waist an the other intertwined with hers I started to lead, moving side to side, forward an back my eyes never left hers. In this moment I saw her glow, the fear no longer within her eyes but still in mine. We danced an we danced losing track of time, people began to leave but El an I kept dancing; the way she held onto my hand made it seem as though she was trying to make me feel safe, warm. In the window the moon began to shine through, the colorful lights were no more, the music was no longer there. It was just El an I in a dark room with only the light of the moon an together we danced till our toes were weak. Every bad thing seemed to fade, looking at her reminded me of so much an the fear began to subside. Moving side to side with the girl I loved only felt like a dream, a dream that I wouldn’t want to wake up from, a dream come true. She has this ability to create such a light in me an holding her like this took away my fear. The world growing colder, lights only growing dimmer an the air around us remains warm; such simple things can change a life.
At home~
I’m sitting by the window once more, El fast asleep as I look out at the world below me an watch as the tree’s sway side to side, the wind creating a song of its own an my heart understanding. The night turns to morning an El is awake again, waking with tired eyes I find her even more beautiful. “Good morning El.” Mike smiled.
“Good morning Mike.” El smiled back.
“Hungry?” Mike asked.
“Hmmhm!” El nodded.
“Well then, let’s go get you some food.” Mike said, grabbing her hand an walking upstairs.
“Thank you Mike.” El said.
“Hmm?” Mike looked to her.
“The Snowball, you kept your promise.” She smiled.
Mike looked to her an blushed. “Y-your welcome El.”
She chuckled an without hesitation she leaned in an kiss him.
“El?” Mike asked, his eyes widened.
“I love you too Mike.” She smiled.
Mike looked at her with a small smile an then looked to his side.
“El?”
“Yeah Mike?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too Mike.”
The end.
