So, I decided to stop crossing my fingers. I'm saying this from experience, because I think it does the opposite of giving you luck. Yeah, my best friend would say something different from what I'm saying right now. So maybe it was just that my luck was crap, but it doesn't really matter anymore. I might as well just quit my job right now. Although I'm sure you already know which prince I got assigned to, I'll say it anyways.

Yeah, it just happened that I got assigned to the most fearsome prince. It's pretty sad, actually. Well, my first day of working for Prince Kai starts today.

"Hey! Come on! Let's go!" My best friend pulls me up from the chair I'm sitting on and runs out of the room. She has a cheerful smile placed on her face while I have a gloomy expression smacked on mine. I reluctantly follow after her and take slow steps all the way to where she stopped: in front of Prince Licht's room.

"Okay! Have fun at Prince Kai's! Wait, no, I take that back. I don't think that can be possible. Well, I'll see you later!" She literally skipped inside his room and left me all by myself in the hallway, staring at Prince Licht's room. Well, I guess I'll get my feet moving now. I trudged over to Prince Kai's room, which wasn't far from Prince Licht's room. Once I was right in front of the door that opened to his room, I forced my legs to stop and took a deep breath. After what seemed like forever, I opened the door and entered.

"Prince Kai, starting from today I will be your maid. I hope you will enjoy the time I will take this position." I took a very low bow and after a couple of seconds passed by, I straightened myself and stood stiffly with my shoulders bent backwards.

I looked down at my feet.

"Well, I- I- I'll leave now, P- Prince Kai, I hope you have a good day." While scolding myself for stammering, I scampered out of his room and sighed with relief after I shut the door as gently as I could. My heart was beating crazily like a wild savage animal trying to get out of a cage.

"Thank you, Prince Licht. I hope you have a great day! I will come and visit again as you requested!" My best friend stepped out of Prince Licht's room and closed the door just as I came near it. She smiled as she spotted me and gave me two thumbs-up.

"Have fun here. I'm just going to quit this job." I walked past her and kept walking until I entered my own bedroom that I shared with her.

"Awww come on. I need you here. You can't just leave me here all by myself." She came in after me and nudged my shoulder with hers.

"I can't take it anymore! PRINCE KAI?!!! I can't take his glaring eyes!!! He didn't even say a word! You can't argue against me because if you were me you'd be saying the same thing right now." I buried my face in my hands.

"I know. I won't say anything about Prince Kai, but you should still keep your job here. For your own sake as well as mine. You know you don't have a place to stay out there. Your parents already passed away, afterall." She patted my shoulder.

"Wow, okay. I didn't know it was really easy to say to my face that my parents passed away. Thanks, I think that really cheered me up." I rolled my eyes to pretend that I wasn't going to cry or anything, but I ultimately failed and started to cry.
