"So... how about we just forget what happened the, uh, other day?" Connor breaks the silence.

"Hmm? The... uh..... your... con- confes-"

"Yeah, yeah. How about we make it as if that never happened? And then we can go back to our old relationship. Friends." He smiles and cocks his head innocently.

"Yeah! That's a really good idea," I smile back and then the tension in between us fades away. Phew, I'm glad. I don't think I could've survived without him breaking the awkwardness between us. I notice movement past his shoulder and I see Prince Kai and the royal tutor standing in front of a deep red royal carriage.

"I'm actually going to go out to bid Prince Kai farewell. Maybe you should too," I suggest. He shakes his head.

"Nope, I'm fine. Well, go then. I have to do my own stuff, so..."

"Oh, wow, so secretive." I tap my chin and he smirks.

"Yup. Now go." He turns and leaves the room. I follow him out but then quickly dash towards the exit of the palace.

"Farewell, Prince Kai! Please arrive safely!" I shout as loud as I can. It seems to be that I'm not the only one who decided to come and say bye. I see him look over the small crowd of people and give each of them a small thanks or a nod. Finally, his eyes meet mine and he... smiles really broadly. So broadly that it looks creepy. Very creepy. I see that everyone looks a bit scared from his creepy expression, but we all know that he doesn't mean to be scary. Then he steps inside his carriage and the royal tutor follows after him. I wave to the direction of the carriage and it takes off.

I guess another nap on the grass would be good. And plus, I'm pretty sure Connor won't lay next to me this time. I walk around in one of the gardens and examine the beautiful and mystical plants around me. There's a Moonflower! And a Forget-Me-Not. They're all so pretty.... I find a spot in the middle of all the flowers and gracefully settle myself down onto the fuzzy grass. Hopefully no one will bother me this time...
My eyes slowly close and soon I'm in a
deep
deep
sleep.

I wake up feeling hair all over my face and I immediately sit up. It's white... could it be...?

"Shadow!" I giggle at the sight of the royal dog laying sideways with his paws sticking out. "It's not appropriate for males to sleep with females," I scold him and he just blinks. I laugh at his adorableness.

"Fine, I'll only allow it today," I lay back down and Shadow starts panting with his tongue sticking out. "Shadow, I feel so lonely sometimes. I don't know why. I mean, I have an annoying @ss friend that I love with all my heart... so what it is that I need more?"

"I can tell her anything on my mind and she can get mad and offended, but she sticks to my side afterwards. Plus, there's also Connor. He's always been by my side ever since... ever since...." I want to crumple myself up and so I tuck my knees into my chest. Shadow whines louder.

"Shadow, do you think that's what I need? A... family?" I feel a teardrop trickle down my face.

I miss them so much.
