"C- C- Conn..." I stutter and look away, not wanting to face my best friend(?) who I rejected.
"Oh... uh... you work for Prince Kai?" He stutters back but he looks at me. I nod my head, still looking away. "That's... uh... great because uh... I'm the new guard."
"Hmm... yeah. That's great." I finally get the courage to look at him and give him a small smile. He (barely) smiles back.
"Connor is new guard. It's good because you know eachother." Prince Kai starts talking and disrupts the awkwardness.
"Yes. I... I believe we can work well." I want to slap myself for telling him such a retarted lie. I mean... does it look like we can work together?! What am I saying....
"Yes, no uh problem." Connor smiles to Prince Kai and he smiles back.
"I have to leave today to meet someone. Today, no work for you guys. Rest." Prince Kai smiles so adorably and beautifully at me I feel like my heart's about to burst.
"Thank you, Your Highness," I manage to keep cool and smile back without erupting.
"It's my first day working, but I guess I get a day off. I worked pretty hard." Connor smiles and both Prince Kai and I laugh lightly.
"Well... I must leave. Have fun." Prince Kai walks out of the room and both Connor and I bow down as he passes by.
Now I'm alone with... him.
