The Cave Of Two Lovers

Chapter 1

Zuko joined the group, and Katara thought that after everything someone wouldn't trust Zuko completely. But as it turns out Katara was the only one who didn't trust him. Even Sokka seemed to trust the fire prince, well he does call his fire-bending jerk-bending but it is more of a joke. After every thing that happened Katara won't allow another guy in, especially Zuko. But let us go to the event that caused Katara's little rant inside her head. She was practicing water-bending with Aang, and Toph was sitting there playing with rocks. Sokka was sitting near Sukki sharpening his boomerang while Sukki practiced with her fans. Toph looks up and calmly states "Some one new is here." Everyone was confused, they were in the middle of nowhere. Then the rest of the gang sees a silhouette of a teenage boy. Katara's eyes go wide and she moves into a defensive stance. Aang grabs his glider but looks calm and relaxed. Toph is still sitting because she doesn't know who this new person is. Sukki tries to hide her fans and Sokka stands up, putting his boomerang on his back.

He waves and starts his monologue. "Hello I am Zuko but you probably already knew that. Look I was lost but know I have found my way just like Uncle told me to. I am really truly sorry for everything I have done. I realize now that everything I have done is wrong. My Uncle and I being separated has really opened my eyes to what is wrong and what is right. I see the wrong in my old ways, and I know I can't undo my actions but I hope you see I want to help you. I want to prove to you that I am not who I used to be. I want to teach the Avatar fire-bending. What do you say?"

"How do we know you are good? You could just be playing me again. I mean us, you could be playing us again. Getting us to trust you so then you go and side with your insane sister. Trying to kill Aang which by the way is the Avatar's name." Katara shot at him then bent a huge wave at him soaking him.

"Katara calm down. He wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't true. It takes a lot of courage to fess up to your mistakes, and you can be especially scary." Aang said moving to Katara, forcing her out of her defensive stance. "I think we should give Zuko a chance. What do you guys say?"

Everyone else nods. Aang looks to Katara with hopeful eyes. "Katara? Please."

"I guess. Aang this is your choice. I don't want to stand in the way of your destiny. But I am not saying I will accept him with open arms." She then walks away to her tent.

Aang smiles warmly, his stormy grey eyes lighting up with happiness. "I guess you are now part of our group. Don't worry Katara will warm up to the idea of you being here with us."

"I am not so sure." Zuko murmured. 'Of course the one person I want to trust me again doesn't. Even when I am trying to be good. the universe still punishes me again!' Zuko thought angrily to himself.

Aang takes Zuko to his new tent. Zuko starts settling when he hears a sound. He stands up and walks outside and a hand grasps his wrist. They tug his wrist and he turns around. He lets out an unnecessary gasp when he sees their face. "What do you want? Have I already offended you?"
