Chapter 4: Menace to Hogwarts

Draco's Pov

"PEEVES!" someone shouted coming down the hallway. It was Filch with his lantern and Mrs. Norris right beside him. We all let out a held breath of relief. Peeves became visible again and the lamps came back on. He looked at all of us standing there with our wands raised and said,"Aww did the little prefects get scared of old peevsy?" Then he swooped down and squeezed Ron's nose and went" Honk got your Konk" and flew off. Filch turned on us with hate in his eyes and said" You lot get a move on or I will have you thrown out." He left going toward the way Peeves went.

"Well that was eventful. Everyones heartbeat slow down yet?" Sheila asked.

We all nodded and started walking again. We got to the prefects conference hall and sat down and looked at Harry and Hermione for our instructions.

"Well as you all know, we need to form pairs for patrolling. So each one of you choose who you want to be paired with. Sheila and Ally are here as we are short on prefects and they are honorary prefects. So its Harry and I as a pair." Hermione said.and took Harry's hand.

"Hannah and I will pair up." Ernie said.

"Im going to see if Blaise wants to be a prefect, then I can pair with him." Ginny said with a grin.

That shocked me. I know that Zabini has always had a thing for Ginny but I didnt know that she had a thing for him. I thought she had a thing for Dean the way she was looking at him through dinner and apparently Hermione did too, because I heard a small gasp coming from her when Ginny said that. I guess we both were wrong.

"Ally and I will be paired." Ron said blushing.

"Well Neville doesnt have time, so Cho would you be my partner?" Luna asked and Cho nodded.

Sheila turned to me and as long as I live, I will never forget the look in her eye when she said," Draco, would you mind if you and I were paired?"

"I wouldn't have anyone else." I managed to say. Knowing My pale face was red from blushing.

"Okay now that is settled. Ernie and Hannah I want you to patrol the Ravenclaw level and also the third floor. Ginny, you and Blaise patrol the fourth and sixth floor. Ron and Ally, We need you to patrol the first and second floor. Cho and Luna please patrol the Hufflepuff level and also the fifth floor. Draco and Sheila, can patrol Gryffindor tower and also the entrance hall. Harry and I will patrol Slytherin dungeons and also the grounds." Hermione commanded.

"Uh...Hermione, do you think thats such a good idea for you and Harry to be in the dungeons with the Slytherin lot? You know as well as I do that they hate you both. I dont want you two to get hurt." I said, true concern for my friends.

"We will be fine Draco. Don't worry we have been through worse than a bunch of closeminded Slytherins. No offense." Harry answered with kindness. I just nodded. True the golden trio have dealt with worse.

"Okay, so lets go get this over with so we can all turn in for the night, we all have to get up early to get our class schedules to start classes." Harry said already looking exhausted.

We all went out of the conference hall and went our separate ways with our partners to fulfill our prefect duties. I couldn't forget the fact and worry that Harry and Hermione are patrolling the dungeons. I was actually worried about Gryffindors. They are my friends though and I will make sure that they are protected from the Slytherins that are out for revenge.
