The Billionaire's Proposition

Chapter 13

Shalimar opened her eyes. She was tied up. There were some men watching her. They had been holding her for the past one week.

She was forced to write a letter to Damon and to also take some pictures with one of the men called Mason. She had asked them who they were and what they wanted but she got no answer.

"Who are you? What do you want from me? "
She asked the man watching her.
He grinned at her.
"You will soon know."

She heard the door open. She looked in that direction and was surprised at who walked in with the man called Mason behind.

"Caroline, so you are behind this. This is kidnap. You have to set me free."
Caroline slapped her across the face.
"Shut up. I don't want to hear your voice."

Caroline brought out some papers from her bag. She gave them to Shal.
"What is this for? "
Shal asked. She read the title on the documents.
"Divorce papers? I won't sign this"
Shal stubbornly said.

Caroline walked closer to her and slapped her again.
"You must sign this, if you don't, you will never see Damon or your sister again. You might not even leave here alive."

Shal struggled trying to untie the ropes around her wrists. She would not allow Caroline to force her to sign the papers.
"I won't sign these papers. I refuse to do so . You can do whatever you want to me."

"Is that so?"
Caroline put her hand into her bag and brought out some photographs. Shal looked at them and saw that they were pictures of her sister. One of the photos had a big red x marked on Emma's face.

"Don't you do anything to my sister. Leave her out of this. Please she has done nothing to you."
Caroline smiled.
"Nothing will happen to your sister. All you have to do is sign the divorce papers. If you still refuse to do so, you might hear that she had an accident and died. You know that accidents happen everyday."

Shal felt defeated. She didn't mind if Caroline tortured her, but now she involved her sister. She took a pen from Caroline and signed the papers.
Forgive me, Damon
She returned the papers to Caroline.

"Good, now pray that Damon also signs them because then and only then will you be set free. "
Caroline left after leaving two of her thugs to guard her.
Shal had faith that he would find her.
"Damon where are you? I am waiting."

Damon stared at the divorce papers on his table. He received them in his mail just that morning. He had been shocked to see that they bore Shal's signature. He was in his office with Ben and Jesse.

"Are you sure she didn't really leave on her own?"
"Yes, I am very sure. She can't leave her sister like that. Even if this paper bears her signature, I think she was kidnapped."
Damon knew that Shal couldn't leave her sister who was still recovering. He knew that someone was behind everything and he had an idea who it was. He told Emma that Shal travelled which was why she had not visited her for the past two weeks.

The police searched everywhere but didn't find anything. They even trailed Caroline secretly all to no avail. Even Lexa, Shal's friend was worried.

Jesse sat up suddenly.
"What about the tracker?"
Ben looked at him confused
"What tracker? "
"Remember Damon, you told me that you would put a tracker on her for her protection."

Damon remembered. His maternal grandfather had been a prominent politician once. His mother was once kidnapped by his grandfather's political opponents but was later rescued. Since then, they put trackers on all the family members to protect them.

His hopes rose.
He instructed his secretary to call the technician who monitored the GPS. He had put a tracker in Shal's wedding ring, that way she couldn't take it off. It slipped his mind because he had not been thinking straight.

The technician came and started  searching for Shal's location with his laptop. It took him three hours to find her. Damon called the police and gave them the information.

He looked at Jesse and Ben.
"Let's go bring my wife home."
