Chapter 10

The next morning, Shal woke up feeling happy and satisfied. Last night was the best night of her life. Damon was so passionate and gentle with her. She saw that his side of the bed was empty. She felt disappointed. As she made to get up, she found a note with a rose on it, on the bed. She picked it up and read it.

Shal,
Am off to work. I would have stayed in bed with you but I have an urgent business to attend to. You were sleeping so peacefully, I didn't want to wake you when I got the call. Have the day off and relax. I'll see you when I get back.

Shal smiled. She stood and went into the bathroom. She showered, dressed up and went downstairs. She poured some already made coffee and drank a cup. Damon told her to take a day off but she knew that she would become bored if she did so. She left the house, entered her car and drove off to work.

"I knew that you wouldn't listen to me. "
Shal looked up from her work and saw Damon glaring at her.
She hoped he wasn't too angry at her.

"I couldn't stay at home by myself doing nothing."
"I thought you needed the rest because of last night."
Shal blushed. She saw the grin on his face and knew that he had deliberately made her blush.

Damon made her stop work for the day and took her home. She wanted to go see her sister. He took her to the hospital and they stayed with her sister for some time. Damon informed Emma that she was going to move in with them when she is discharged.

Shal and Damon bid Emma goodbye when visiting hours were over. Damon took her home.

Damon ordered some Chinese food for dinner. They had dinner with Damon's eyes on her throughout the meal.

After dinner, he carried her to their bedroom and they made love several times. Damon couldn't get enough of her. They lay satisfied and spent after the fourth round.

Shal ran her fingers through his hair. She kissed him.
"I know next to nothing about you, Damon. Tell me about yourself, your family. Anything."

Damon told her about his father, how his parents met, his school days with his friend, Jesse, about his past with Caroline and even his father's will that lead to their marriage.

Shal told him about her parents, how they died (car accident), how the doctors diagnosed her sister's illness, how she met her friend, Lexa and other things about herself.

They stayed awake exchanging information about each other. They slept only when they became too exhausted.

From then onwards, they made sure they spent more time together. Damon took her out for dinner some nights and also took her to functions. He accompanied her to go see Emma on the days he could.

Shal was very happy. She knew that she was falling for Damon. He was very loving and caring towards her. She knew that he cared for her and hoped that he would come to love her some day.

Caroline angrily tore the magazine into pieces. She had tried Damon's number but her call was barred. She wasn't allowed into his company's building anymore.

It was all because of that good for nothing assistant he married. She was the one who turned Damon against her. She started to think of what to do.

She smiled wickedly when she got an idea. She brought out her phone and dialled a number.

"Mason, this is Caroline speaking." she said when the call was picked.
"I need you to do something for me. I will see you at the cafe behind Monte's eatery. Be there at twelve sharp. Don't keep me waiting. Goodbye."
She hung up.

"Miss Shalimar, just you watch and see. I will take back my man. As for you Damon, you will soon come back to me. You are mine and only mine."
