Chapter Four: King For A Day.
After a few practices, and some more funny soccer games, we were all backstage getting ready. Kellin was being extremely loud in his vocal runs that didn't even make sense, Justin and Jack stood talking to each other. Gabe was sprawled across the couch with Jamie complaining he was taking all the space. Mike Tony and Vic sat not to far away, having a quiet conversation. It was chaotic with the crew, all of us running around like headless chickens. Anna sat in a quiet corner with her colouring book and Casey sitting next to her. I was yelling left right and centre.
"OI! Kellin, guys your on in five, move your arses!" I yelled over the noise. Kellin looked up and nodded. He walked and pulled Gabe straight off the couch and onto the floor. Gabe swore loudly and Jamie jumped on the couch claiming it. Jack and Justin shook they're heads and grabbed their guitars, while a muttering Gabe grabbed his drum sticks. I walk over and handed Kellin his microphone.
"Thanks." He smiled. I nodded to him.
"Hey's, what's up with the whole Anna thing?" He asked nodding his head towards the couch where Tony and Vic sat on Jamie. I sighed,
"Long story, wait for the movie, now quick only two minutes." I said ushering him up the stairs.
"All right all right I'm going." He whined while walking up the stairs behind Gabe.
We stood side stage now and I could see all these kids in the mosh pit, the sound was already quite deafening. Most kids were wearing black or band shirts. There was a few crazy ones dressed in weird costumes, hoping to be noticed by Kellin. A few posters were being held up. Both sweet ones, picture ones and dirty ones. I smirked at a few.
"On in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6.." Kellin started jumping up on the spot. Gabe was already hidden in the shadows at the drum set and Jack and Justin waited to run on stage.
"3, 2, 1. Your on." I said pushing Kellin slightly and he sprinted out on stage as Jack hit the first chord. The crowd erupted and I grinned wildly. The dedication of these fans were amazing.
"What's up San Diego!" Kellin screamed into the microphone before the first song started playing. I still worked out the back a bit but spend of a lot of time watching Kellin play from the side.
"Hey." I turned and saw Vic walking up to me. My breath hitched slightly in my throat.
"Uhh, hi." He was now next to me and I was scared I was going to have a heart failure. He scrutinised me with his captivating brown eyes. His plump lips seal in a small smile. I felt my mind slowly wonder away from me as I studies his features. I saw his mouth move but I didn't hear what he was saying over the sound of the music.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you!" I yelled, pointing to my ear. He look confused before he realise. He leaned in and he put his mouth near my ear. My whole stomach was twisted as I felt his breath on the side of my neck.
"I said, how are you?" He pulled back with a questioning look in his eyes. I just shrugged.
"I've been ok." I yelled back to him. He opened his mouth to say something else before Dave walked up.
"Vic, you ready to go on?" He yelled over the loud guitar. Vic nodded as Jack handed him his guitar.
"Cat." I looked to see Casey walking over with Anna on her hips.
"She wanted to watch your performance it's kind of her favourite song." She said loudly. Vic frowned.
"She listens to us?" He questioned. I tried not to laugh at his shocked face. Casey kinda shrugged.
"She loves it." Anna wiggled out of Casey's arms and walk to Vic. Pulling on his shirt. He crouched down with a smile. I could only just hear her small voice.
