Chapter Twenty-Eight: So Much For Keeping This Just Friends ~ Vic's POV
(Yes title credit to All Time Low)
I watched Cat slowly become happier as the week went on. Every night she would spend nearly two hours, curled on her bunk talking to Anna. She would be a bit sad when she had to hang up, but we all manage to cheer her up in a matter of minutes. I was just walking around Warped, we had finished off a quick interview and I decided it would be nice to meet some fans. For the nearly three weeks that Warped has been going on, have been some of my favourite times. I know in every interview I ever do on any tour, I say it's the best tour I've been on, it's because I'm not lying. Each tour is the best in its own way. I'm obviously with good mates, and I get to have Cat with me too, which is a big bonus. It was nice being close with her again. Yeah, I'm kinda annoyed about the whole 'only friends' label. I guess I'm stuck in the friend-zone as people call it. It was also interesting seeing her apart from her daughter. She acted like the twenty three year old I met. The one that was a bit crazy and out going. She was more mature when it came to Anna.
I nearly fell over when someone collided into me. I turned bewildered to see a grinning Gabe staring up at me.
"Jesus Gabe, you nearly squished me." Gabe stood up straight and gave me a smirk.
"Wouldn't be hard considering yours so small." I glared at him.
"You know I'm sensitive about my height man." I said in my most serious voice. I saw Gabes smile falter, but he was smart enough to know I wasn't entirely serious.
"Gabe, stop harassing Vic." Justin said, walking up with Zack by his side.
"Hey, party at the ATL bus tonight, bring your own booze, but we'll all probably end up sharing. You game?" I shrugged with a smile.
"Well, yeah I guess." Zack grinned.
"Good, cause you have no choice." I heard a yell and a scream of a girl and turned to see Cat being dangled over Austin's shoulder. She was pounding his back, laughing and yelling for him to put her down.
"It's really high up here, why are you so tall?" She screech as Austin laughed and started spinning in circles, Cats hair fanning out.
"Oh my god, Austin, I'm going to puke everywhere!" She yelled Austin stopped spinning.
"Please god, do not vomit." She softly groan, now dangling freely.
"I can't make any promises." Austin slid her to the ground in front of him. She gave him a devilish grin.
"Just kidding." She stood on her tippy toes, kissing his cheek while he look outraged.
"You lying deceitful sorcerous!" He bellowed and tried to grab at her again. She squealed and ran straight towards us. She laughed as Austin chased her before she grabbed me and swung around my shoulders, cowering behind me.
"Save me Victor." She giggled, wrapping her arms around my neck. I couldn't keep a smile off my face as Austin bounded up to us.
"Give me the maiden, and I shall spare your life." Austin said in a strange voice. Justin, Gabe and Zack sniggered next to me. I puffed out my chest.
"No, you shall not lay a single finger on a hair of this fair creatures head." I demanded in a deep voice. Austin took a step closer and towered over me.
"You sure about that small fry?" I acted scared and flipped me and Cat around, using her as a shield.
"Take her. Just spare me." I shoved her softly forwards as she gasped.
