Chapter 7: Is this my escape?

I trudged on through the eerie woods, each step I took I grew more confident and strong. I was determined to get out now. I honestly couldn't stay in here a second longer. I don't know where all this strength and power I could feel was coming from, maybe just thinking of being back with Mike boosted it, I don't know.

Afterwalking for I don't know how long, I came across a tree, but it wasn't like the hundreds of other trees I had come across today. It seemed to be an odd shape and I could hear a faint beating noise. The tree was noticeably larger and darker in colour than the other trees, could this finally be my escape? Cautiously, I made my way around the tree, but came to a stop when I saw it. My escape. It was a huge hole in the tree, one I could easily fit through. However, it was concealed with a possibly unbreakable red transparent blocking. (A/N, you guys all know what I mean, I can't remember what its called, someone help me out). I just stared at it for a couple of minutes. I had to find a way past it, it could be my only escape route, and I had to at least try.

I had been standing there for quite a while, trying to figure out a way to get past it. I don't know where it actually leads to, it might not even be back into normality, but I was willing to give it a shot, besides, even if it wasn't home, it couldn't be worse than what I was already used to. About 10 minutes ago, I had tapped on the solid material, and tried banging, hoping there was a small chance that somebody could hear me.

They couldn't.

I screamed in frustration, I was never going to get out. But, when I looked up, I noticed my screams had had some kind of effect on it, it started glowing when I screamed, but the light faded when I stopped. I let out another deafening scream and watched in fascination as it lit up again. This has to mean something. I just need to find a way to get through it. And I wasn't going to give up.
