Chapter 21: With shaking hands

I brought my attention away from Mike and back to El. I looked down to at my shaking hands as I felt tears beginning to gather in my icy blue eyes.

El noticed this and she held my hands. Yet again, I heard her soft voice speaking in my head.

Max, breathe. Calm down. I'm here for you, we will tell the boys and they will be too. I'm going to help you, teach you what you need to know and how to use and control this. I understand this is a big change but you have to work with me here, I'm going to help you. I promise.

I felt the tears escape my eyes and race down to my cheeks. With shaking hands, I squeezed her hands and nodded. Allowing the small smile to grow on my face. I turned to the boys, who had very confused looks on their faces, then I glanced at El again and nodded.

Slowly turning my head, I focused on Mike, staring him dead in the eye. I remembered what El said. I repeated the words 'Mike, it's Max', over and over again in my head until I felt the blood trickle out my nose and watched as his eyes widened.

I watched the other boys reactions as I repeated this process on them. No one had spoken yet, no one really knew what to say.

After a while, Dustin's loud voice  broke the silence.

'That...was...amazing. How did you find out how to do that. Max...what!?'

The smile returned as I replied 'El, she discovered it and told me.'

The boys stared at me in awe. My life was about to get a whole lot weirder.

Hiii so this was just a short little filler chapter because I realised I haven't updated in SO long!! I'd like to thank you all for getting my silly little book to 4k!! That's incredible :) Thanks for all the support on this book and I should have a new chapter up for tomorrow afternoon💞
