Hey guys, probably going to be some random POV changes in this chapter, I don't really know what I'm doing. Bare with me :) xx

Chapter 3: Night, Mike

Mike
B A N G.
That's all I heard before it was silent again. My immediate reaction was to think that there was someone breaking in. I bolted to the top of the stairs and looked out the windows and checked all around the house. No one was here. What the hell was that??

Eleven
I think he heard it. I really think he did. Seconds after the table smashed against the wall, I heard clearly panicked footsteps. It must be working, it has to be. Considering this, I suddenly got motivated to do it again. I regained energy out of nowhere. I was determined to get his attention and let him know it was me, it was really me. This time I picked up a chair, which was much lighter but hopefully would still do the job. I picked it up and sent it into the wall faster, and it made a satisfyingly loud crashing noise.Satisfied with my accomplishment, I smiled to myself, I think this will work.

There it was again. It sounded like it was coming through...the walls? No. Mike, you're going mad. There's no noise, you're crazy. I tried to read a comic to distract myself. Telling myself I was making all these strange noises up, there's nothing in the wall, how would that even be possible? Shut up, Mike.

Not even minutes later I heard it again. I felt the vibration of something hitting the wall. I slapped myself, I must be dreaming. Am I crazy? As I heard the noise again, and then again, I figured it must be real and not just my imagination. But what was it?

I was still trying to figure out what the noises were, where they were coming from and why they were happening. Suddenly, I heard a voice. This voice was very faint, yes, but it was unmistakably the voice of a girl. Not just any girl, my girl. El. But how? Where is she? She can't be in my wall? I heard her voice again, calling my name.
'Eleven?' I called out.
'Mike, it's me. I don't have much time.'
'Why? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where are you, can I get to you?'
So many questions were racing through my head, how? How has she finally reached me?
She simply responded. 'I'm weak'
I needed to help her, 'El? Can you come out, can you find a way?'
'No.'
'Why not, I need you, I miss you.'
'I know, me too.'
Her voice was getting more tired by the second, I could tell it was hard for her to talk. I had to keep this short, but I needed to find out more to help her. I don't know how I felt, she said she couldn't come out, and she sounded so sure of it aswell. She must have tried before, but now I can help her. I would do anything to have her with me.
'El, rest. Talk to me tomorrow. It's late. I'm going to get you out don't worry, but you'll need to tell me a few things. Trust me, I'll get you out.' He had tears in his eyes. It was her. It was really her.
'You can't.'
'El, I made a promise. I promise I'll get you out.'
'Really?'
'Really, night El.'
'Night, Mike.'

I climbed into El's tent and let the tears roll down my face. I smiled to myself. I was going to get her out. I don't know how, but I will. After all, I did promise her. I was finally going to see her again, and this time I will never let her go.

After throwing the chair, I realised Mike really could hear me because he came closer. I threw a few more heavy objects at the wall, just above my fort. I could tell we were standing in roughly the same place, my fort. I decided that I should try talking, I mean, he could hear the furniture crashing against the wall. So, if I spoke loud enough, he must be able to hear me.
I used all the energy I had to speak loud enough. I called his name out, hoping he could hear me. I tried a few more times, I'm not giving up now.
'Eleven?'
Mike. It was him. He could hear me, he knew it was me. I felt a small smile appear on my face. It's him.
'Mike, it's me. I don't have much time.'
It was hard for me to speak at this volume. I was weak, and struggling already. I knew we couldn't talk for long, I couldn't handle it.
'Why? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where are you, can I get to you?'
I couldn't answer all his questions, it was too much. I wanted to, he cared, I knew he wanted to find me, and I wanted him to find me. But it was impossible.
A simple 'No', was all I could force out.
'Why not, I need you, I miss you.'
It broke my heart hearing him say that. I miss him more than anything. I needed him too, I really did.
'I know, me too.'
I felt something wet dripping down my face, was this something to do with the sadness I was feeling?
It was getting harder and harder to speak, I could barely do it. My voice was hoarse now and it hurt to talk. I knew I had to go soon.
'El, rest. Talk to me tomorrow. It's late. I'm going to get you out don't worry, but you'll need to tell me a few things. Trust me, I'll get you out.'
'You can't.'
I wished he could. But there was no way out. The gate was closed. There was no threat to me down here, I killed the demogorgon. The only threat was starvation and thirst. Luckily, food and water had somehow been teleporting into a small wooden box that was in the woods, I visited every day.
'El, I made a promise. I promise I'll get you out.'
'Really?'
'Really, night El.'
'Night, Mike.'

Another chapter done, I feel like this book is moving a bit fast, but I'm trying my best as this is my first book remember😂. Also, I know some words and the language might be slightly too advanced for El, but it's hard to write from her point of view and I am trying :)
