It's along way home

Chapter~5 Planning Our Trip!

    I woke up in the morning, letting my gaze go over at Gwen. She was still sleeping, cuddling a pillow. I looked at the TV to see it was still on 181. I looked at my phone and made a group chat that had everyone who was going on the trip. Of course Diego and Dawn were the oldest and my aunt trusts me with him because he's a older cousin. Mark and Jane were on board along with Tim and Brendon. Tim and Brendon were in the same grade so I guess they're friends, I'm not sure. Gwen was on board and her dad said it was okay, so I guess it's okay to go. Dawn is coming that's the only bad part. I hate her, she hangs on Diego like he's a wall.

Gwen finally woke up and checked her phone then she giggled. I looked at her "What? Who texted you?" I'd asked her. "It's Brendon, he said can't wait until the trip." She giggled as she replied to him. I scrolled through Facebook boredly until I got a message from Tim. I read the message, then started to giggle myself. Gwen looked at me "Got a message from Tim?" She smirked. "Yeah, he said can't wait to spent the whole summer with me." I replied to him basically the same thing. Tim and I talked back and forth kind of all day. Gwen and Brendon did the same thing. Our group chat was already blowing up with everyone talking in it.

Diego said he'd pick up everyone around 11 am and everyone had to have money for plane tickets. Brendon said he'd pay for Gwen's plane ticket since she didn't tell her dad. Mark said he'd pay for his and Jane's. Tim had his ticket paid for and I had mine covered. Diego paid for Dawn's ticket, he always pays for her. We all said we had to go, so the group chat was quiet for 6 hours or so. Until, Sunday morning, the group chat was blowing up again because everyone was at their own houses. Gwen had went home since Monday was tomorrow and that was our last day of school. Diego had told everyone what the prices were and the times he'd pick everyone up. Dawn was of course already at Diego's house. Gwen would go home with me along with Mark and Jane. Tim would go home with Brendon and they'd probably play video games until Diego picked them up.

We all gave Diego our addresses and did our thing for the day. The next day came and we all went to school. The last day of school was fun. You either your outside doing actives or inside watching movies. I sat next to Gwen and watched La La Land with her. After La La Land, we went outside and played volleyball. It was raining outside, so we got covered in mud. Tim and Brendon played with us but on the opposite team. Mark was on our team and Jane was on Tim's team. It was 3 v 3, and the score 5-2. I severed the play and Brendon spiked it but Gwen hit it up and Jane spiked it down. We all high fived each other for team work. The boys were just staring at us like, how did we even do that. Gwen severed the next ball and Brendon tried to hit it but fell flat on his back. Mark set the ball and Tim hit it, I set the ball and Jane hit it back. Brendon got up it time to block Gwen's spike.

Gwen glared at Brendon, as he smirked at her. Tim chuckled as he severed the ball to me. I set it to Jane and she hit it over. Mark hit it back and Gwen spiked it. The game went on and my team won. We lined up for the dunk tank, our principal was in the tank first. I paid and threw the first ball, it hit and my principal went in the tank. I handed the balls back and wait for Gwen. Gwen hit on her first try and we went back to volley ball. Mark and Jane stayed around the music, and Brendon and Tim stayed near the dunk tank. Gwen and I later talked to teachers about what we were going to do over the summer. The teacher said that was cool and we should have fun with our plans. I got a text from Diego saying he got out of school. I replied to him with 'Okay, we still have an hour until we get out so you can go get the van for all of us.' He said okay.

I told Gwen we only have 1 hours until we got home and she gave me a huge smile. Brendon and Tim were dancing to Cha cha slide and Mark and Jane joined in. Gwen and I shrugged and joined them in the song. Soon other people were joining us and dancing to the song with us. We danced until the song ended. Cotton-Eye-Joe came on and we all danced to that. The teachers were also dancing with us. It was like home coming all over again, but Mr.Perry didn't fall on his back. Mr. Perry is our band director and our band teacher. He's like a father to band kids and like a father to me. Gwen likes him, so doesn't Tim, but Brendon doesn't like him so for some odd reason. Mark and Jane said he's cool, anyway he was dancing with us. People were playing volley, dancing, and throwing balls at the dunk tank. They hour pasted by kind of quickly as we all got dismissed. We went to the buses and got on. I texted Diego that we finally got out of school and he said he'd pick Gwen and I up first. Gwen and I got home after 5 minutes and Diego pulled in afterwards. We grabbed our bags and got in the van.
