"You don't just need to hurt these people, you need to scare them!" Jack cackled, twitching his head to the side.

Carrie grew her Siren fangs and hissed, looking threatening to any opponent. Some Chimeras in the back roared and jumped into an attacking position. Many of the Werewolves growled on their hind legs, claws reading to slice open flesh. Others crouched on the cold stone, baring their teeth. Some Clowns giggled manically and hunched over in a creepy way.

All two hundred fifty monsters that had gathered at Fireheart Rock were looking so terrifying that if anyone spying on them had seen it, they would be traumatized for life.

Daniel walked in from a small cave in the mountain that he and some Werewolves shared. He didn't look up from the rocky floor that he walked on.

Carrie walked up to him, a wild smile on her face. "Have you found it?"

Daniel suddenly lost his cool. He roared angrily, "I told you that I want her to have it!" He walked back to his cave, curled claws at his side.

Everyone stared at Carrie, who stood still, appalled at Daniel's behavior. She ran after him into the cave, her damp feet barely making any noise.

Carrie bent over a little as she crawled under the arch. But, after the dip in the cave, there was plenty of space. It was built so that Giants couldn't get in, since they loved the taste of magical blood.

Daniel sat on a flat rock facing the corner. He was in Human form at the moment, but something told Carrie that if he got too mad he wouldn't be. And, since Daniel was very powerful, he'd probably be able to transform without the full moon if he was angry enough.

"Daniel, what is it?" Carrie asked, walking over nervously. The last thing she wanted was to already be half dead by the battle.

Daniel, without moving, answered, "do you think she's opened it yet?"

Carrie scoffed. "What is it about you and this bottle?!"

Daniel suddenly stood up and whipped around. "I LOVE HER!!!" He hurled a fireball at Carrie. She ducked and it smashed the arch behind.

Carrie gasped. "What?"

Daniel didn't turn around, but he went on. "You know the Prophecy of Truth?"

Carrie nodded. "Of course."

Daniel continued, "about Hazel and Emily and how they were to drink the potion so their unborn children could rule together? Well, it was composed of mainly a love potion, and so when Hazel drank it, her unborn child was to love Emily's unborn child. But, since the potion backfired for Emily, Hazel's child would love Emily's child with no love in return."

Carrie said grouchily, "get to the point, Dan."

Daniel had to take a second before saying, "Iam Hazel's child." t
