"Lynn, Lynn! Wake up!"
I opened my eyes slowly, expecting to see Kyle in front of me, telling me that everything would be okay, telling me that it was just a dream.
But instead I saw Nicole. She helped me up with her free hand. The other one held a bouquet of flowers.
Standing up, I noticed she was wearing a beautiful white wedding dress. It had a breathtaking veil that sparkled like crystals in the light. She wore white flats with red jewels at the front.
"Come on." She led me through the forest toward a white tent in a break between the trees.
Instead of going in the tent, we went behind it to a smaller tent. Flora and Giselle stood inside, wearing powder blue bridesmaids dresses and carrying small bouquets of baby breath flowers, same as Nicole's bouquet.
Stella suddenly walked in. "Do I look good?" She spun in little circles, carrying her bouquet of forget-me-not's.
I nodded, gazing at her white dress. When she spun in circles, it lifted up and spun with her.
Nicole checked her time necklace and gasped. "We're starting!" She whisked her hand and my tattered war outfit transferred to one of the bridesmaids dresses.
Everyone got into their places, Giselle telling me where to go. "Just stand here until they give us the signal."
And so we decided to fix our flowers and bedazzle them some more. Flora created morning dew on the flowers so they would shine in the sunlight. And Giselle made our dresses sparkle just like Nicole's.
When the signal appeared (birds being released above the larger tent), everyone in the smaller tent headed out to the larger one.
When the bridesmaids finally entered, we walked in a single file line into the large tent, which looked exquisite on the inside. The walls were as white as clouds and the tables were as blue as the sky.
The minister, who was an Elf I had never seen before, cleared his throat and began the ceremony. He talked as I stood between Flora and Giselle, trying to stand still and not draw attention to myself.
"Calvin, do you take Nicole to be your lawfully wedded wife?" he asked, looking up from his Bible.
He looked into Nicole's eyes. "I do."
The priest turned towards Nicole. "And do you, Nicole, take Calvin to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
She smiled. "I do."
The priest announced, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Nicole and Calvin kissed each other, holding hands lightly. The small amount of people in the tent cheered and applauded as Nicole and Calvin broke apart, facing the gathering of friends and relatives.
I bite into the tasty lemon cake as Stella talks about the battle.
"What surprised me was how everyone began to disappear. It's like when the leader dies, everyone else does, too." She paused and took a bite of the cake.
"Lynn, didn't you see Daniel die?" Giselle asked. She licked white lemon frosting from her red lips.
I nodded. "Yeah, the Blood Curse's Curse."
Stella gasped. "So he disappeared slowly?"
I nodded again. "Did the army disappear slowly or quickly?" I asked.
Giselle answered, "quickly, unlike the Blood Curse's Curse. All at once they just... were gone." She looked down at the white tablecloth, looking at the floral designs.
Flora knew it was a good time to change the subject. "Anyway, this potion works really good." She looked down at her smooth, slender legs.
I smiled. "Wait, I thought you'd use the potion for the battle!"
She shook her head. "It's so much easier to fight with a tail. You trip less!"
We all laughed at Flora's joke.
I said, "you know what, Flora? I think everything will be all-"
All of the sudden, thunder struck. Assuming it was just a storm, no one was really worried.
But then the roof was ripped off and a Dark Demon appeared in its place. He was very tall, probably seven feet, and looked strong. He was shirtless with a black cloak, black boots, and ripped black pants.
Everyone screamed and ran for cover. I ran with Flora towards a corner of the room, using a nearby table to give us shelter.
Frozen in fear, Giselle did not stand from her chair, dropping the plate of cake, a shattering noise following.
"DANIEL IS DEAD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" the Demon roared, sending red lasers shooting from his crimson eyes, which glowed with rage.
One of the lasers truck Giselle and she exploded, everything around her breaking to pieces.
I gasped, trying to run and help her, even though she was gone. Flora held me down, covering my mouth with her soft hand.
The Demon continued to destroy people and things. An Elf I didn't know was running for the door, but was hit with a red laser just after Giselle was.
In about five minutes, the Demon disappeared and the thunder stopped.
We all looked towards Nicole, who stood from a pile of rubbish, Calvin standing along with her.
Flora stuttered, "who w-w-was that?"
Nicole closed her eyes for a second, then opened them again. She took a deep breath and announced something that made my stomach flip.
"That was Dexter, Daniel's father, King of the Demons."
