"Stop! Stop! It's this one! Hurry!" I yanked the seatbelt clean off. "Here's your money!" I threw the cheque at the driver and launched myself out of the taxi. By now, Robert was fully alert. The pain killer drug things he took were exceptionally effective. We both flew up the the front door and were startled with the sight in front of us. The grand, black door was wide open, there were scratches all up it. On the hallway floor lay umbrellas and a smashed pot, or two by the amount of shards.
The broken pieces crunched beneath our feet as we walked in warily. "What happened here?" I spoke, my voice wary and shaky. "I don't know. Stay close to me Molly." There was no one in the living room, the kitchen looked like a bomb had come through the big glass doors. There was no one there either. Robert went up the stairs first, very slowly, very cautiously. My heart thumped sluggishly in my chest. I felt sick of the thought of what could have happened here. We paced towards what looked like Scars bedroom, I could only see a glimpse of grey carpet with cream walls. Robert nudged the door open carefully. What was left of it anyway... The thing had major holes in it, the door was nearly clean off the hinges.
"Holy shit Kellin!" Robert galloped into the room. I followed to find Kellin, bound to one of the bedposts in the room. He was crouched down and on his knees, holding his face. As soon as Robert had gotten to him, Kellin opened his arms and they held each other in a tender embrace. Kellin weeped faintly into his shoulder. Robert spoke so gently to him, "who did this to you Kel? Tell us what happened." It was a while before he began to talk, I emerged closer and when Robert had let go, I took his place. He looked at us through his glossy, aquamarine eyes. He looked so weak, you could see it in his face.
"It was him. The guy that stabbed me, the same guy that attacked Scar..." He was welling up again. "I came in here, I heard shouting and a door being kicked from outside. She was here, Scar was right there," he pointed at an area by a large chest of drawers. "He was standing over her, like the devil himself; a knife in his hand. As soon as he saw me, he grabbed her..." He wiped his face with his sleeve. "He held the weapon to her throat! Every time I moved closer he pressed the knife harder into her throat. There was nothing I could do." His voice broke off. "He made me handcuff myself to the bed, so I couldn't follow them. She's gone. She's gone..."
As he spoke to Robert I ran downstairs and searched in the drawers desperately for a knife, anything that was sharp, anything that would cut.The best I got was a huge meat knife. I carried it back upstairs and handed it to Robert who began sawing at the chains of the handcuffs. "She's not gone Kellin! She can't be!"
"Molly we need to find her, but I don't know how, or where to start..." He looked at me desperately. Think Molly, think!
