Tzuyu's POV:
It's autumn here in South Korea and my first day at Seoul National University. I'm really loving it here already and my roommate is super cool. She's this girl called Rose, actually a model here in South Korea and so: completely fashion obsessed like Mina. She wants to become an architect and so is studying towards that with modelling as a side job, to help pay off the loan she took from the bank to attend university here. I sit outside, sipping a glass of watermelon juice and thinking about how lucky I am to be able to be here without a loan. I admire Rose, she's been here the entire summer working hard to earn some money for Seoul and now she's at Seoul , with a positive attitude and a drive to work hard in all her electives. Rose was named appropriately, really, she's fair and has pink cheeks with luscious strawberry blond hair and blue eyes, no surprise. She's what my mum would call a "natural beauty"."Tzuyu-"
"Oh, Hi Rose!" I smile up at Rose, I hadn't even noticed she was back.
"A girl called Mina called for you." She grins. "She sounds friendly and I can totally imagine her to be that way. But that's just my perception... tell me about her."
"Yeah? She is. She's my best friend and I'm really missing her right now."
She nods. "I have a best friend back home too, so I know how that is."
"She's super energetic and a cheerleader, she loves reading- is smart and completely loveable."
I take out a picture of Mina, Jungkook, Mingyu and I, sitting under 'our tree' on graduation day.
"So that's the famous Mina." She says, happily.
"Yep."
"And who's the other guy, next to her?"
"Oh, that's Jungkook."
"He looks really muscular and athletic."
I laugh. "He is, he plays practically every sport under the sun."
She points to Mingyu and my heart lurches.
"Who's the cutie?"
I frown. "That's Mingyu . He's an ex."
"What did he do?" She looks surprised.
"He didn't do anything.. I called it off."
Her eyebrows raise, funnily in a very dainty manner.
"May I ask why?"
"I didn't want to hold him back."
"So you still love him?" She confirms.
"Yes, I always will." I start to sniff and just know that tears will soon follow.
"Aw, do you need a hug?"
And Rose hugs me till I feel better.
"Which college does he go to?"
"He goes here." I bury my head deeper into her shoulder. I'm overwhelmed by a dose of I-miss-Mingyu-itis but I'm just going to ignore it because I believe in what I decided.
"Oh." Is the amazing reply she comes up with, but I'm grateful for the support nevertheless.Mingyu's POV:
"Wake up man! Don't you have an Economics Test due in 10?" Eunwoo says but his words don't register in my head.
I groan "Tzuyu?"
"Get up man." Someone socks me and I jolt awake.
"Whaaat? Oh shit- Economics is in ten. I overslept."
"I suggest you put on a pair of jeans and skateboard your way there."
"Done." I rush to my closet, grab a pair of denim distressed jeans from Gap and kick my skateboard out from under my bed. My stomach growls just as I start to leave, and Eunwoo, one step ahead of me, chucks me an apple.
"Do well Mingyu." He says, cocking his head slightly. "Do it for Tzuyu." He smirks at me. "Who is she anyway?" He yells at my retreating figure.
"It's just the first day and you've already said her name in your sleep about five times." He mutters, and yet I still manage to hear him.
"Bye Eunwoo." I yell back.
I walk into my classroom, panting heavily, I had to take a u turn from my dorm and it near school , to get to the garden and reach the building in which Economics was held in.
"Cutting it close are we Mr. Kim?"
Several girls wink and giggle, thinking it'll woo me.
"I'm sorry, it won't happen again." I say, sinking into the only available seat, which of course, has to be at the front of the room.
"It better not, Kim." She says, smiling yet strict. "You may now begin." She adds, and takes a seat right in front of me.
I spent a very uncomfortable hour with hawk eyes on me the entire time and my thoughts continuously wandering to Tzuyu and what Eunwoo had said this morning. I'm fairly sure that I didn't fail the test though and that's important. It is the first official school day but she took this test to ensure that we were all on the same level in Economics. Coming from different backgrounds, and different schools.. some people didn't get the same opportunities as others. I never really appreciated that I can walk out of here, without owing anyone. Eunwoo's on financial aid and Jungkook works two jobs to help pay for his college education.***
"Hey you!" A brunette who looks about my age, 5'4 and smoking hot walks up to me.
"Are you single?" She smiles, batting her eyelashes flirtatiously.
"Yeah." I reply, casually yet with a gruff undertone.
"Well lucky for you, so am I."
I laugh. "I'm not dating at the moment, sorry."
She pouts but pulls herself together by choosing to wink at me.
"Well if you change your mind, let me know."
I smirk at how cocky she is. "I'm only going to change my mind for one girl."
"Well, she's lucky then. See you around!"
"Yeah, see you-" I pause, as if I want to call her by her name.
As if she read my mind, she says "My names Alina. I didn't catch yours cutie."
"Mingyu." I says, shaking my head at the storm she just flirted up.
"Well bye." She walks away, shaking her hair and strutting with attitude.
Hot but not my type. I think. My type is defined by one word.
