I was sucked into the screen in front of me. I was dizzy and disoriented at first but then when I finally gathered my bearings I was more confused than when I was dizzy. I was looking at myself. In bed. The clock said 5:59. A minute before I was supposed to wake up. I looked around for a place to hide but it was too late.

The alarm blares it's annoying siren sound signaling that it was time to wake up and get out of bed. I watched myself sit up, shake sleep out of my brain, and turn off my alarm before getting up. My present self was standing in front of my closet which is exactly where my past self headed. Let's refer to her as..Two. Two walked right past me. She didn't even glance in my direction. I guess she couldn't see me. That will make things easier. What was I supposed to be seeing, anyway?

I followed Two through our standard morning routine of getting ready for the day. I noticed my outfit and I realize it's the same one I'd been wearing the day all this happened. Maybe, I'm getting answers.

Two put on her shoes and walked out the door, me following suit. We walked through the busy city following the same path we take almost everyday to work. I worked in a small café not too far from my building. It was a quaint place. A brash outlier from the otherwise obnoxious and overbearing city.

Everything seemed normal. We entered the cafe and Two put on her apron before setting off to work. After she stepped behind the counter, though, something strange happened. The whole universe seemed to suddenly spin at a rapid pace all around me. All I saw was a blur of earthy colors that were the walls and portraits of the cafe along with enhanced, echoed chatter of the customers and staff. I felt around for something to keep me balanced in the sudden whirlwind but by the time I found something, it was already over. The place finally came to a screeching halt and I was left disoriented for a moment before realizing something was off.

There were different customers than there were previously, the manager was gone, and it was just me working the machines and counters as I was scheduled to clock out. Speaking of clocks, several hours had also passed. I supposed the sudden spinning a moment beforehand had been time advancing. That'll take some getting used to.

All I had to do was wait a few moments before the few remaining people had taken leave for home or whatever their lives led them to. Two finished wiping down the tables and counters before locking up and heading back to our apartment.

I never liked closing because it meant walking home in the dark. Now, I'd like to pride myself and say I lived in a safe neighborhood with friendly people, but in all reality, I didn't. Two kept our small purse clutched close to her side but also kept a brave face like she wasn't afraid; to convince others, as well as herself, that she wasn't.

I continued tailing her down the eerily quiet and grungy sidewalk to the little apartment I called home. A slight breeze picked up carrying the smell of garbage and cigarette smoke from homeless people hiding in the shadows. Newspapers and other miscellaneous garbage rolled around. Two and I got this eery feeling of being followed that we didn't like so we sped up our pace.

I turned around and saw that we, in fact, were being followed. It was a man; tall and lean with curly black hair and dazzling baby blues that sparkled with mischief. I immediately recognized him as Charlie. Charlie was my ex boyfriend. He was an amazing guy/boyfriend; he took care of me when I was sick, showed me off to all of his friends, played with my hair, showered me with kisses, love, and affection. Until I made one little mistake. We were arguing one night. It wasn't a big argument but since we very rarely disagreed, it was a big deal to us. We were doing homework when I brought up a girl I had seem him chatting with in the hall that day. I wasn't mad. I knew Charlie wouldnt cheat on me or even flirt with other girls. She was a new girl and I was curious as to what she was like. He blew up. He started yelling and saying I was accusing him of being a cheater and that I needed to get over myself before I got myself in trouble. Little did I know, I was already in trouble. The argument got bigger and bigger and just kept growing until he ended it real fast.
