Looks like I've got everything. Oh man, this is the night. I'm gonna ask her to live with me. We've been going out for about a year or so now and I know she wants kids soon but also wants to be married. I'm not ready for marriage and I know she isn't either. She's always wanted to live with someone for a while before they got married and I totally get where she's coming from and I want to make it extra special.
She probably thinks my surprise is I was just gonna make her some dinner and we could have sex. Well, we are going to do those things but not before I surprise her with the question and a round way trip to Hawaii. I've been saving up for this trip for months, putting in over time, even doing some odd jobs around my neighborhood. She probably won't like it, though. I always find a way to mess things up. Lauren may say I don't and act like I don't but I know that I do. I just want to make her as happy as she makes me but I can't seem to. No matter what she says.
Oh no, this is awful. She's gonna laugh in my face and tell me how stupid I am for even thinking she'd say yes to any of it. Holy shit, what have I done?!
Pull yourself together, dumbass! She loves you and she's going to say yes and you know it. If you freak out you're more likely to mess things up so just...go sit on the couch and wait for her.
What time is it, anyway?
9:15
That means she should be home any minute. I do feel bad for not walking her home. I know how much she hates coming home in the dark. I don't blame her in this shitty ass neighborhood, commonly referred to as Gary, Indiana. Which is why I'm so excited to ask her to move in with me; in a nice town, nice neighborhood, with nice people. Honestly, I don't know how she ended up in a place like this after growing up in Carmel, a rather posh and stuck up place.
I started picking at my fingernails, a habit of mine, trying to pass the time. Nearly 9:30 now. Where the hell is she? I decide to text her.
Hey baby. Get stuck at work?
I waited a few minutes but she never read it. She usually always has her phone on her at work and reads my texts immediately. She's not usually very busy. I text her again.
Baby? Are you okay?
Lauren? You're scaring me. Please answer.
That's it. She wants to break up with me. I can't say I blame her. But..what if something bad actually happened to her? This is a really shitty neighborhood. Maybe I should look for her. But I don't want to ruin the surprise if I do. I had it all planned out in my head.
She walks in the door looking tired but still has that beautiful smile on her face and her blue hair in this adorably messy bun. She smells like the relaxing scent of coffee that I've always loved. She takes in the room and her eyes get that sparkle in them like they do when she's excited. Damn. I don't want to miss my chance to see that. I'll just wait here.
