A few months later..

17th August 2117

I awake and get out of bed. I grab my hoodie, which is lying over the bed headrest, and slip it on over my pajamas. The smell of butterscotch floats up the stairs.

*Feeling the warmth of my small, cozy room...
*It fills me with comfort.
*Oh, and determination too I guess.

I sigh. If only Luke was still here to tell me that.

I walk out the room and look across the landing. The room on my right belongs to Guidea. The other room doesn't belong to anybody yet, but it may belong to Luke or Asriel if I manage to bring them back...

Walking down the stairs, the smell of butterscotch-cinnamon pie intensifies. Guidea is slicing it into pieces now. I walk into the kitchen and give her a big smile.

"Ah, good morning Tyler! I hope you slept well!" I nod.

She looks out of the window and says "It's a beautiful day outside..."

"You should really go outside and play, the weather is so nice!"

I smile, and head back into my room, changing out of my pajamas and into my regular clothes. I secure Luke's locket around my neck, and then leave the house, but not before hearing Guidea yell happily "Have fun!"

Our village is pretty small in comparison to the underground, but we learnt to make do. Ambstablook lives next door in a red house. The other houses variate in size and colour.

The pink house belongs to Ambstablook, the green house belongs to Sam, the light blue one houses Crimson, and then three houses lay on the outskirts.

The yellow house belongs to two human friends who moved in recently, however I don't remember their names, seeing as I don't see them around that often. They both have their own Youtibe channels, a boy and a girl. Apparently they moved here from a place called "Arizona". I think their YouTube names are "JamesAnimation" and "theAri1out", or something like that. They have a pet moth named Harry.

The purple house lays secluded in the woods, away from all the others. It was there before we even got here, so I'm assuming its' abandoned. Now and again, though, I hear computer-like noises coming from within, and the constant tapping of a typewriter. Whoever is in there sure doesn't like company.

The last house is Impact and Castellar's house. Somehow they were able to move their entire house here. The town is pretty simple besides from that.

There's Grillby's 2: Still Grilling, Mt. Ebott Community School, the Librarby, and Puffet's Tea Room.

I decide to check in on the Flamesman family. The normal customers, such as Lesser Dog, Greater Dog, Doggo, Dogamy, and Dogaressa sit around the poker table, having an inaudible conversation over the fixed jukebox, which is currently playing a disk called "mus_muscle".

Flam and Harlow sit next to the counter, watching their dad, Grillby, clean a glass. I walk up and wave.

"How's it going, weird child?" Flam remarks.
"Hiya Tyler!" Harlow giggles.
"............Hi." Grillby mumbles.

A strange, Eevee-like creature leans against the stereo.

"Hello! Who are you?" I ask her.
"Hi! I'm Evelyn! I'm a monster, but don't put me in your pocket. Just to let you know." She sighs. "That weird skeleton...Impact was it?...has been throwing Poke Balls at me every day since we reached the surface!" I smile and facepalm. I wave her goodbye as I leave.

I think I'll go to the beach next.

The old mushroom guy grumbles something as I pass. "Feh! Not only are puzzles getting worse, but books are too! There's less original books out there now! There's a bunch of poorly-made 'fanfictions'. And people are 'plagiarising'! They're literally just copying other people's ideas! What a disgrace! It's a good thing we're not in any stinking fanfiction! Sheesh! If we were, I'd really lose faith in the world!" I sweat and walk past him quietly.

I walk up to the politics bear.

"I heard some weird people are running for prime minister. One of them wants all monsters to wear specific tags or something. But why? To make us 'different'? Aren't we already different enough? We're MONSTERS!" He then sighs, adding,
"Thaaat's politics!"

I see Castellar on the boardwalk, waving to try get my attention. I walk up and hug her. She ruffles my hair and smiles.

"Hello Tyler! Isn't it a lovely day today? I just love the surface! It's beautiful!" My hair blows in the seaside wind.

"I'm currently enjoying this dazzling view." She spins me around, keeping one arm around me as we looks towards the vast expanse of blue.

"If you're looking for my brother, I...have no idea where he is whatsoever. Check the door to our house, he might have left a note! Also, if you see him, please ask him to clean the snow off the roof. I told him to do that months ago. See you later Tyler!" She lets go of me, allowing me to walk back to her house.

A few minutes later, I arrive at the front door. A note is attached to the knocker, like Castellar said.

At lab, be back later.

The note is written awfully, so it's definitely by Impact.

I decide to go and check in on him.

Nobody knows about the secret lab but me and him.

It's around the back.
