As Crimson drops me out of a piggyback in front of the town hall, I take off my hoodie and tie it around my waist, to look decently dressed. Waving goodbye, I push open the front door with both hands, and quickly tuck my shirt in and straighten my collar.
"Tyler, come in. The mayor arrived just a few minutes ago." Asgore walks up to me, in his royal robes, and ushers me into the room where I'm assuming the Mayor is waiting. Asgore tries to leave me behind, but I grab his cape before he can go.
"Wait, Asgore, aren't you coming with?" I exclaim in a worried tone.
"Tyler, no, you don't understand. She's here for you, and only you. You're on your own." He says guiltily, before walking down the corridor to his office. Biting my lip, I turn around to face the patient mayor. The mayor of Ruzila City, the city where I came from.
Sitting down on the opposite side of the desk, I examine her quietly for a minute, whilst she drinks something from a flask around her waist - probably coffee.
Her hair is slicked back on top, hair sticking out in a tidy black mess. She wears a white, uncreased shirt, with signs of coffee along the collar. Overall, she seems to take pride in her apperance to the people.
"Hello, Jesse Tyler McRey. I've been wanting to meet you for...a long time."
She sighs, leaning over the table to speak to me, supported by her right arm."...Do I know you?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. Nobody knows my full name besides Webdings and Guidea.
...Unless they found my birth certificate.
The mayor looks up at me with...sadness in her eyes.
"You really don't remember me...ha...""...What do you mean by that, Miss Mayor?" I console, resting a hand on her shoulder.
"...Let's start off from the beginning. What is your name?" She averts quickly, going back to her somewhat serious attitude.
"It's just Tyler Dreemurr, please. And you?" I chirp, seeing her strong facade weaken slightly.
".....Helena." She mumbles, taking another sip from her coffee.
"That's a nice name. So what did you want to see me about?"
"...Your human family." Helena admits, as I blink in shock.
"My...mom? Is that it? Do you... know where she went?" I gasp in curiousity, but stop as I see the way she stares at me. Her gaze is...sincere. Like...she's trying to reach out at me.
"As I said, my name is Helena. However..." She says, with a hint of grief in her tone of voice.
"...However?"
"My full name..." Helena starts, before mumbling something under her breath.
"Huh? I didn't quite catch that."
"MY FULL NAME IS HELENA DAWN MCREY."
With this, I slide back in my seat in utter shock. She looks at me again with utter sincerity.
"...McRey. You're...my family...?" I gasp, earning a silent nod from the distant woman. Then...
She walks around the table, and pulls me into a tight hug. Confused, I feel her sob, slowly hugging her back. She smells oddly familiar, and...I start to feel a bit of nostalgia.
Why am I feeling this way? She's a complete stranger to me...
...No..It...can't be...can it..?
"...M-mom...?"
Slowly, I feel her nod, as she kneels down to my level. I stare at her in slight disbelief.
"That's right, Jesse. I'm your mother. Look...Look how much you've grown! I'm...so...happy..." She sobs happily, pulling me into a tight hug again.
