All I ever do is work, work, and work some more. Right now, I'm working at the Mystic Grill, where I bartend and listen to downhill stories of how people's lives got bummed by drinking problems.

I would much rather be in a crop top and jean shorts partying, but instead, I'm in a long sleeved black Mystic Grill shirt and jeans.

I grab a glass and refill it with bourbon, the whole time his eyes were glued to my cleavage... gross. "Eyes up here Damon." I remind him. "Oh but what's the fun in that?" He asks in his usual Damon-like way.

"Please, you know how I feel." I scold and he looks up. I roll my eyes and return to wiping off the counters, when I see a new guy sit at the bar.

I smile sarcastically at Damon and then walk to the far end of the bar and walk to face the man with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. "What'll it be?" I ask tiredly.

"A bourbon, neat. On the house." He says. Wait, did he just try and compel me? I lean across the bar, my face inches from his. "I'm an underpaid bartender who certainly needs this money for basic necessities. What are you supposed to be?" I ask coldly.

"A hybrid." He smirks. "Should have figured." I roll my eyes and reach down to get the bottle and pour him a glass.

His eyes study me intriguingly. "What's your name love?" He asks. "Why would I tell an immortal hybrid my name?" I question. "Because I want you to." He smirks. I smirk and shake my head. "What's yours? Oh wait that's right, your Klaus, who killed my friend." I seethe angrily.

"Oh come on, love, you can't be this sore and stubborn." He comments. "Don't act like you know me." I shake my head. "Oh I do, Skylar." He smirks. I growl and turn my back to him cleaning a glass.

Suddenly, I hear a voice, an all too familiar voice. "Hey Sky!" The voice calls. I stiffen and hesitantly walk up to the bar where he stands. "Y-yes Mike?" I ask. "Bring over some food on your way to your house." He says in a commanding tone.

I nod and wait until he walks out until I relax again, and go back to serving. "Who was that, love?"Klaus asks. "Nobody important, just a local drunk." I say nervously, attempting to play it off.

"If you say so." He laughs. "Hey is Tyler at your house? I need to talk to him." I ask. "He just so happens to be, would you like me to give you a ride?" He asks. "Sure, just give me about 5 minutes my shifts almost over-" I'm cut off by Matt.

"Hey Sky, uh, want me to take over?" He asks. "Sure I was just going to see Ty." I smile in thanks and grab Klaus' glass, seeing him glance at my uncovered wrist. I pull my sleeve down and turn away.

"Bye Matty." I smile and walk out from behind the bar. "Ready?" I ask. Klaus nods, and we walk out into the cool and empty street.

"What are those scars?" He asks. "Look, please don't-" I lose my words. "Just tell me." He shakes his head.

"They're burns, happy?" I ask. "Burns from what?" He asks. "Let's just say I had a rough start in life." I roll my eyes and he opens the door to his car for me. "Thanks." I mumble as I sit back in the seat.

"You going to buckle in, love?" He laughs. "No, I'll just heal if your driving skills surprisingly fail." I say sarcastically and he shoots me a look. "What?" I ask.

"Your a wolf." He smirks. "Yeah, and?" I ask. "I see your beauty has its roots." He smirks as he drives to his house. I trace the cigarette burn on my arm, old habits die hard and all, and wait to get to his house.
