Sanji pov
Zoro nervously, began to glance to the side before pulling at his fingers. I couldn't help but soften slightly. It was my right to know why he broke up with me. This whole time I was thinking he did it selfishly that he wasn't hurt as much as I was. Now that we were up close and personal, I could tell that wasn't the case.
His face was more yellow than it's normal bronzed complexion, his Adam's apple shaky. Those eyes were still a beautiful grey, but lack of sleep had dulled along with a lose of confidence. Faint purple bags surrounded them. Everything about him was messy and rushed, like he didn't focus on getting dressed, just getting out the house. If he didn't know him, you'd wouldn't notice that had to be the saddest part. "Y-you have to promise to not hate me."
"I promise, but Zoro I have to tell you something."
"What?"
"Perona-Perona told me. She told me about when you assaulted that lady because she insulted Sabo." I could feel the air in the car grow thick and hot as the man beside me tensed up, fist clenched in his lap. I didn't know how to take the information she gave me at first, but seeing him like this. It was clear that he wasn't proud of it. Zoro wasn't going to defend his actions. He was ashamed, trying his best to appear strong emotionally, but he wasn't.
The calm and collected exterior was strong and solid which made even the slightest crack ever more noticeable. "She always told me that your couldn't help it."
"When?" Zoro , normal deep and controlled voice, sounded dry and crackled. His face was turned to stare out the window. Sighing, I slouched deeper into the passenger seat.
"She came to my house. Yesterday after school, said she got a ride from a friend. She wanted to be friends with me, sweet right? That's it wasn't about you, and it wasn't. But I had to ask her."
"Why?"
"You weren't going to talk to me even if I tried." I chuckled dry. As if he forgot our argument at lunch, leaving me high and dry. This time around, he wasn't going to get defensive and brush me off. "After that I went to see Gin."
Instantly, he turned to face me, face and eyes red. That was the last thing he wanted. I was aware. Gin had used me, hoe could I forget? "Did he~"
"He didn't do anything. You know why. He physically couldn't." Zoro finched, dropping his gaze back to his hands as his finger rubbed the hem of his varsity jacket. A deafening silence ripples in the car. Both our minds were full of fog, but it was time to clear my conscious. "Zoro why did you really break of with me?"
"Why do you think?" He mumbled, still keeping his eyes off me even thought I was turned to look at him. The truth was clear, Zoro was tired and sad. There was never any anger on his side even at lunch he had been desperate to get away when I wanted to have a yelling matched.
