Chapter Eighteen
Felicite's POV
The next morning, like usual, Louisa needed some extra encouragement to get out of bed. I'd been to the cafeteria for breakfast and they'd been serving Louisa's favourite, so I brought it back for her. It was one of the least rock-type foods they served there, and was supposed to be a chocolate croissant of sometype. I despised them but Louisa for some unknown reason found them delicious. I put it in the microwave and warmed it up until I could smell it. I then proceeded to waft it around her room, before returning it to the kitchen. A few seconds later a pathetic cry emerged from the bedroom.
"Fel?"
"Hmm?"
"Food?"
"Yep."
"Bring food please"
"Food is waiting for you here"
"But I can't reach it."
"Then you have three options," I stated. "Grow an extremely long arm, get up and eat it, or the bin looks hungry too, so I can feed that."
"No no no," she cried, which was followed by a thump. "I'm up! I'm coming!"
As she made her way into the room, I grinned, and she glared. And so, everything was as it should be.
"What do you have first?" she asked, and thus ruining the happy moment.
"Ugh, english I think."
"Ew, you poor thing. I have study I think, so I'll just chill in the library."
"Okey dokey. Well, you and your weird breakfast have fun for now, I'm going to head to class to ask a few questions about something I'm stuck on."
"Okay, see you at break."
I grabbed my bag and headed towards class shaking the odd feeling I got whenever the library was mentioned. Whenever I hear the word it would remind me of when Carter and I discovered the hybrid thing, and therefore gives me a heart attack by making me think someone had found out.

Halfway through english, an announcement came over the loudspeaker: "Excuse me, may I have your attention for a few moments," the class was shushed silent by the teacher, making enough silence for Headmaster Jamerson's voice to be heard. "There will be an emergency meeting in the hall in five minutes. All students and teachers are required to attend. Thank you." The speaker clicked, indicating the end of the message, leaving the class looking around in confusion. The teacher sighed before signalling us to do as he had said and we began to pack our books.
I bumped into Ryder and Carter just outside the door to the hall, and both looked as confused as I felt. Regardless, I asked anyway, "Do you guys know what's going on?"
"Nope, not a clue. Neither did anyone in my last class," Carter replied.
"Perhaps they finally realised that teenagers should not be forced to get up at the break of dawn to attend mind-numbing classes, and are cancelling all lessons," Ryder suggested.
I nodded thoughtfully, "I think you might be onto something there."
We all laughed, however that immediately faded as we stepped into the hall, the somber atmosphere tangible.
My heart started racing in fear of what we might hear, and I glanced around the room seeking the faces of the people I knew in case something awful had happened. I located Connor, Millie, and Joanna, but before I could spot anyone else, Headmaster Jamerson appeared at the head of the room, and silence fell immediately. I grabbed Carter's hand, and squeezed nervously, feeling comforted when he squeezed back.
