Louisa's P.O.V.

I hadn't seen Keegan since the assembly, and the smoke now filling the sky had shockingly done nothing to lower my concern.

"Lou!..Louisa," I heard a voice yelling behind me. Looking around, I saw him attempting to fight his way through the crowd toward me.

"Keegan thank god!" I yelled and threw my arms around his neck. He embraced me just as tightly and I immediately felt safer.

"I'm never going to let anyone hurt you," he whispered in my ear.

A small smile appears on my face, "I love you."

"What?" He pulled away from me.

Had I really just said that?! Oh my god. I didn't even know I felt that way. Were we even at that point in our relationship yet? He looked shocked! He didn't feel the same! Oh my god ground please swallow me up!!

"I didn't-- I don't--I mean I might--but you--." He gently cupped my face and kissed me softly to bring a halt to my panicked ramble. "I think I love you too," he smiled.

I sighed in obvious relief and couldn't help but laugh. "Weird time to say it but it just felt... right? You know?"

"I do, and that is exactly why I was going to ask you something -  before all of this of course. Due to all the chaos that A.L.I.C.E is causing, I was wondering if you would like to meet my parents earlier? Maybe for Christmas?"

"Of course, I'd love to!"

Felicite's P.O.V.

My heart was pounding from adrenaline as I headed back inside the school with Carter. We'd left Ryder with Millie together, and I think Connor had gone to find Joanna.

As I was walking down the corridor I realised that I no longer recognised our surroundings.

"Where are we?" I queried.

"My dorm. Are you okay staying with me tonight? I'd feel safer."

I smiled a little, "of course."

The dorm hallway was odd. It easily fit the stereotypical atmosphere that children would associate Dracula with. Black carpet, maroon coloured walls, old and frayed paintings of people from decades past, and cobwebs lining every crevice. Unlike the hall I live in where the doors are numbered numerically 1,2,3...his hallway is numbered 7, 148, 3228 ( these numbers were known as 'vampire numbers' in maths).

We stop outside his door, number 1260  and he held the door open for me. Thankfully Carter's room decor did not match the decorations back in the hallway. His carpet was a warm brown and the walls a clean white. His bed looked untouched which made me wonder why it was even in here.

He spoke, as if reading my mind. "When we first started dating I asked the school board if I could have a bed in here. I said that I just wanted a comfortable place to sit, but really it was so that you could sleep if you ever came over." I swear if vampires could blush, he would have been cherry red.

I walked over to the edge of the bed and let myself fall face down. It was so plush and comfy compared to the beds they supplied in my dorm and I was immediately jealous.

"This bed is amazing" I groan and close my eyes. I felt the bed dip as Carter sat down next to me, along with a soft pressure on my wings.

"Your wings are beautiful" he whispered.

I turned to the side and opened my eyes, locking them with his gorgeous green ones.

He spoke again, "and to think it is because of these wings, that you are here in my room today".
