I eyed the finished product of Amara Jayne Kyle.
She stood in the middle of my bedroom floor wearing a floor length, form fitting black dress that had a slit up the right side, which reached high up on her thigh.
It had a plunging neckline that showed off just a tasteful amount of cleavage and its straps tied around the back of her neck in a halter neck style.
She was wearing silver strappy heels and had marching silver jewellery on her wrists, fingers and a necklace around her neck.
Her makeup was also done to its usual perfection, subtle but tastefully powerful and her hair was long, glossy and flowing around her face in heavily straightened curtains.
"You look amazing."
I told her, unable to hold back my smile.
Once again a brief flicker of worry showed on my best friend's tanned face.
"It's not too much?"
She all but whispered.
"You are perfect."
I assured her.
"My brother is one lucky bastard."
Amara looked down and I actually managed to see her cheeks heat slightly in a light blush.
I slipped my phone out of my pocket to check the time.
5:58PM.
"Heath should be here any minute."
I declared, sliding my phone back onto my hoody pocket.
Amara's eyes widened slightly and she chewed nervously on her lower lip.
I couldn't help but awe.
"You really like him, don't you."
I whispered.
Amara looked nervous, but nodded.
"I think it's time the two of you put down your walls and let each other know what's going on."
I urged.
"You'll be surprised what a true D and M can actually do."
She smiled weakly.
"Well it works for us, doesn't it."
It does.
We always feel better after a good ole chat.
"Ready to head on up?"
I suggested.
"I'm not sure!"
My best friend squeaked.
"You know he's gonna be in love the moment he see's ya Mara."
I rolled my eyes.
"You know what you do to guys."
Amara sucked in a deep breath.
"I just need to calm the hell down, don't I."
"You do."
I agreed.
"It's always nerve wracking in the beginning, but you'll survive I promise."
"Okay."
She nodded quickly.
"Lets go."
I turned around and pulled my bedroom door open.

I'd been planning on calling Zander once Amara left for her date with Heath.
But as we entered the kitchen, I found that I didn't have to, because he was already there, talking with Keegan.
And Heath.
I wasn't the one going on a date, but I suddenly felt nervous.
Keegan nodded pointedly in us girls' direction.
Heath (who'd had his back to us), turned around, his expression curious.
I knew when he got a look at Amara, because his blue eyes widened and his jaw suddenly hung uncharacteristically slack.
I waited for almost ten seconds, waiting to see if he'd regain his usual composure.
Apparently not.
Smirking, I stepped up and reached up to push his jaw shut.
"You'll catch flies!"
I teased.
My brother gave my shoulder a gentle shove.
Laughing, I made my way over to Zander and Keegan.
"Hey."
Zander offered me a smile and slipped his left arm around my shoulders.
I grinned up at him.
"Hi!"
"Bye."
Amara's voice snapped me back to the moment at hand.
I turned around to see she and Heath were heading for the door.
"Have fun!"
I called after them.
The screen door clanged shut behind them and I heard their footsteps start down the stairs.
I turned to Zander and Keegan.
"How gorgeous did she look!"
Zander smiled.
"Not as gorgeous as one girl I know."
Keegan pushed off from the bench, heading for the fridge.
"You two make me wanna hurl."
"You'd rather I was an arsehole to your sister?"
Zander questioned, raising a quizzical eyebrow.
"Of course not!"
Keegan retorted.
"Guys! We're talking about Heath and Amara!"
I interrupted.
Zander shook his head.
"I can honestly tell you that I don't notice."
He doesn't notice the beauty that is Amara Kyle?
"Keegan?"
I appealed to the guy in the room who was 'single'.
My brother shrugged.
"She knows how to work what she's got I'll give her that. Any other adjectives are obviously up to Heath."
I couldn't help but smile.
"Scared that big bro will beat you up?"
I teased.
He rolled his eyes at me.
"No. I'm just not interested in what's not available."
Good choice Kee!
"And I just don't care."
Zander chimed in, sliding an arm around my body and pulling me into his side.
I tipped my head back to get a look at his face.
"That's pretty sweet."
With a smile, he leaned down to kiss me, his crutches squeaking as he moved.
