Reapercussions

Nia hobbled her way through the Ark corridors. Unwanted memories of her brief moments on Alpha Station wiggled their way into her mind, she had hoped that down here, on the ground, she could finally get away from the haunting thoughts that occupied her brain back up there.

Jackson followed behind her, she grew annoyed at his constant hovering and his inability to not go ten seconds without checking that she was okay. After what felt like centuries, Nia finally made it to the room where Raven was currently recovering after her operation.

Luckily, she was awake when Nia walked in. The two shared a smile with each other as she stepped through the door, both grateful that they were alive. The girls were eager to catch up with each other, but noticed Jackson still stood behind her and was hesitant to leave. "You can go." Nia said to the nurse, he warily glanced between the two and nodded before he exited.

"You're looking a little brighter." Raven spoke hoarsely as her friend sat down on the chair beside her bed.

"Yeah, I could say the same for you." Nia's eyes ran over Raven's features, just a few days earlier her eyes had red rings surrounded them and her face was a ghostly pale, cold sweat forming on her forehead and her breathing was raspy, but now the girl in front of her was nearly a complete opposite.

"Yeah, the doc stitched me up." Raven smiled, but Nia could detect a slight forcefulness behind it, as if she wasn't fully believing her own words. Nia's eyes drifted to the crutches that rested against her bed, Raven noticed them too and held a frown on her face. "Those are just temporary. I'll be back up on my feet in no time."

"I know." Nia smiled reassuringly at the girl, who relaxed slightly from her stiff posture. "Abby told me they found six of our people." She spoke, trying to see if Raven had any other information that could ease Nia's mind.

"Yeah." Raven sat up in her bed, the reminder of the other survivors brightening her mood. "Finn managed to get away before the blast, so he's alright." Now it was Nia's turn to plaster on a fake smile.

"That's great."

Raven continued, "he's gone out with Murphy, Sterling, Monroe and Bellamy to try and find the rest of our group." The brunette's face perked up at the mention of the last name. She wasn't sure if she misheard it or if her mind was playing cruel tricks on her.

"Bellamy? He's ok?" Nia asked hopefully.

"Yes, he's okay." Her friend smiled knowingly at her, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Frustratingly, Jackson had interrupted the girls in the middle of their gossip and dragged Nia back to her bed. She huffed from her position on the uncomfortable bed, making sure the people around her knew of her dissatisfaction. Abby walked up to the young girl, a new bandage in her hands and a stressed look on her face. "How's your stomach?" She questioned.

"Good." Nia shortly replied, wanting to get this over with. Abby reached towards the hem of Nia's top and sent a quick glance up for confirmation, Nia nodded and the doctor lifted her shirt up and began redressing the healing wound. She turned to Jackson. "Has she been resting like I told her to?" Nia instantly rolled her eyes, knowing that Jackson would dob her in.

"Yes she has." The girl spoke up, not letting Jackson speak first.

"She only walked to and from the med tent and that was it." He truthfully spoke, Nia glared at him from behind Abby. The doctor nodded, seeming pleased that the girl had mostly followed her orders. The three's heads snapped up as they heard a gunshot.
