Chapter 19

"Please?"

"No."

"Aw, man. Come on!"

"Nope," I said, popping the p.

"I'm not joking around anymore."

"Neither am I."

"Chayna, let me go."

"Chayna, let me go," I mimicked in his low voice.

"I love you."

"I lo-Ryan. That's not funny."

"Did I say it was?" He replied to me, chuckling slightly.

"No, but you were laughing."

"Well, too bad."

"Ugh! Why can't you get message and shut up!"

"Why won't you let me go?"

"Because you're locked up for a reason, Ryan."

"You are really cranky," Ryan shot back.

"Well, someone keeps bothering me!"

"Fine."

"Thank goodn-"

"Chayna?" A familiar voice asked, coming into the room.

"Lauren!" I screamed, running into her arms.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered into my hair.

"You were missing."

"I know," she said, her voice muffled by my shirt.

"Lauren?" a male voice came into the room that I wasn't familiar with.

"LIAM!" she screamed and ran off into his direction.

"Uh, Lauren, who is Liam?" I asked hesitantly.

"You don't remember? I thought we talked about this at the house before we came back to save Ryan." she glanced around the room.

"Speaking if which, why is he here?"

"Uh...yea. I remember Liam, and I think I might've been holding his interrogation..." I trailed off, waiting for her to yell.

"CHAYNA LYNNE PARKER! How dare you!" she screamed at me, and might I add, very loudly.

"Lauren I-" I didn't exactly get to finish.

"So let me get this straight. You're holding an interrogation for the boy that you love?!"

I never realized how awful that sounded.

"Yes," I whispered.

"Wow. That's shallow." Ryan's voice came from behind me.

I glared at him. "Stuff it."

"Okay," he replied cheekily.

He was a bit too happy for my liking, so...I stomped on his foot. Very, very hard.

"Ow! What the heck Chayna!?"

"Oops?" I replied with a smirk on my face.

Of course, that smirk was suddenly wiped off my face by Lauren's glare that she was sending my direction.

"Sorry," I muttered.

"You'd better be," Lauren started. "Anyway, this is Liam, my boyfriend. And I was missing, yes."

I walked over to Lauren and gave her a quick hug.

"Why were you missing?" I softly asked her.

"I was taken in for questioning by the police."

"My dad?" I asked, shocked.

"Yes, no one knew where you were Chayna."

"You did," I said, now realizing it.

"I know, you had a signal from your phone, it didn't take much." Lauren sent me a weak smile.

"Let's get you guys out of here," Liam said for the first time.

"Okay," I said weakly, then untied Ryan.

"Thanks." When Ryan looked at me, I could tell that he really meant it.

"Your welcome," I replied nervously. "And I'm sorry for stomping on your foot. And being extremely rude. And yelling at you. And-"

"It's okay." And then Ryan smiled at me.

"Let's just try not to get all sappy, okay?" Lauren said, pushing us out of the room.

"Whatever," Ryan mumbled, and sent me a goofy smile.

I sent him a smirk, and he took the hint and didn't say anything else to Lauren as we were leaving the building.

I turned around before we left and remembered that I had left Fintan.

This wouldn't be the first time I left him, I thought to myself.

I was starting to mend my relationship with Ryan a tad bit, and ripping apart the previous one with Fintan.

Why couldn't I stop hurting people?
