Chapter 4
"Chayna?" A soft, gentle voice came into the distance.
"She won't be able to hear you." Unfamiliar voice. Probably a doctor's.
"When will she wake up?" Chimala sounded like she was going to cry.
"Soon enough. Don't worry Chimala, I'm sure it was an accident." What accident?
"I know. Ryan said she was just under so much stress, and then she passed out. I trust him. I'm not worried. I really don't blame him, though. She's a bit accident prone." Yes, that was true.
"Thanks again for coming to our home, Doctor. It means much."
"Ah, not a problem. Well, goodbye. Have more patients to get around to."
"Goodbye, Doctor."
"Take care Chimala."
"What...happened?" said a familiar voice that came into the room. I knew that voice. It was Fintan's.
"Ask Ryan." Chimala. I knew it was her voice because of how soft and delicate it was.
I heard footsteps come into the room, when a voice ordered, "Get out. Now."
"Ryan, please." Why was Chimala asking Ryan for permission?
"Chimala, please. I need some time."
"Sure. Fine." Poor Chimala.
"I'm watching you. Stay away from her Ryan. You know it can never happen. She's paired with me. Not you. You may have had a problem with yours, but you can't mess her up. She's mine. You know that." Fintan spoke in a voice that was almost unbelievable. He was jealous. I realized to myself.
"I won't hurt your precious little girlfriend, Fintan. She's not a prize." Fintan walked out of the room. After that I heard Ryan whisper:
"She's not a prize. She's a gift from God."
I tried to smile, but I couldn't, I was too deep in sleep. I barely heard anything. But not before I heard Ryan say:
"I'm so sorry, Chayna. I'll make it up to you. Even if it's the last thing I do, I will spend every day trying to make up to you. I'm so sorry Chayna. Goodbye, I have to go. Don't go wandering around now." He chuckled to himself. He kissed the top of my head and left.
