Slightly short chapter today! I feel much better now that I sat down and got this done. Excuse my french at the end, it was much needed :-)

Chapter 26

Ryan pulled back and looked at me. "Why did you leave?" He asked.

"I...," I started, but couldn't seem to finish.

"Hey," he said, shaking my shoulder. "it's going to be alright. I promise."

I just faintly nodded my head and closed my eyes. God, I was tired.

"Ryan?" I mumbled.

"Yes, darling?" Ryan replied.

"Can we sleep?" I asked. I noticed the pause after I asked him.

"Ryan?" I asked again.

Ryan still wasn't answering and I pulled back to see him staring at a spot on the floor.

"Hey," I shook his shoulder. "Ryan."

"Yeah," he softly replied.

"Do you want to go lay down?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he repeated.

"Okay....," I trailed off, not really sure if he had heard me or not.

I grabbed his hand and pulled him up off the floor and lead him back to my room. I laid down and pulled Ryan with me.

His arms engulfed themselves around me and I instantly felt relaxed. It wasn't to the point where I wanted to sleep anymore, but where I wanted to just lay back and relax.

I couldn't help but feel the nagging voice inside of me that kept telling me "you're going to get in trouble" over and over.

Technically, just because me and Fintan didn't want to be together anymore didn't mean that we wouldn't be together.

The law was the law, and no one had ever tried to go against pairing.

So, we were screwed.

Big time.

Fintan had taken a liking to one of my best friends and weirdly, it didn't bother me. It really should, but it didn't. Fintan was happy, and that was all that I really cared about. It was nice to be able to be happy for someone else as well for myself.

It many have taken me a while to figure all of this out, but I knew that finding love wasn't accepted in my world. You were who you were with your pair. Not your true love.

It kinda sucked, didn't it?

Society was messed up, big time. And I wanted to fix it. I wanted to fix whatever was wrong with my world and I wanted to love who I loved freely. I felt caged.

Damn the law and damn this country.

I was ready for a revolution.
