Jenny's Perspective

We have been skipping rocks for quite a while now, neither of us wanted to back off. I checked the time. Haru wanted me back by eleven and it was now 10:30pm. I had thirty minutes.

"I think we should get going. I only have thirty minutes until my curfew." I said to Namjoon.

He looked at his phone for the time as well. "Crazy how time goes by so fast, huh?"

"Yeah" I mumbled as I played with the hem of my dress.

"Do you want me to carry you, again?" He asked.

I looked up in excitement. "Yes please."

-

"Is this counted as a date?"

"I mean I'd assume it did." He responded as he gently put me down in front of the car.

"Oh", I quietly said. I was hesitant to ask, but I did anyway. "Does this mean we're dating?"

"I hope it does because I'd love to call you my girlfriend."

A smile crept onto my face. I couldn't help the blush creeping onto my cheeks. "I hope so, too". I said more to myself than to him.

The sky started to drizzle a little. We quickly climbed into his car and he started the engine. Namjoon pressed onto the gas and left the parking spot in reverse. He changed the gears and left the parking.

The pond was quite far away from my house since it was quite far from the school.

"Did you have fun tonight?" He asked out of the blue.

"Of course, it was delightful."

"Haru wanted you back by eleven, but what time did your mom want you back?"

I was put in bewilderment. My mom never said what time she wanted me home. I never leave the house so I really don't have a real curfew, either. "I'd assume she wants me home by eleven, too, I guess."

"Mmkay"

-

We drove in a comfortable silence as the slight drizzle became pouring rain. I checked the time. 10:54pm. I had 6 minutes but I'm sure they don't expect me to get there right at eleven. That'd be too much.

The silence was calm and so was the road. There weren't much cars since it was pretty late. Every once in a while there'd be a car, but other than that there wasn't much happening.

"Are you an only child or do you have an older sibling that lives somewhere else?" He asked.

"I'm an only child, but Haru is like my second mom and her daughter is like my sister." I explained. "Why do you ask?"

"I'm just curious and I want to get to know you better." He answered honestly.

The car became silent again with the soft patting of the rain. There really wasn't much to talk about.

We were in a calm trip when we saw red and white lights hurdling towards us. Before I knew it I was being blown to the left by an impeccably strong impact.

Namjoon's car flipped once and landed on the roof. I had an airbag blown in my face and I couldn't feel my legs. It was as if they weren't even there anymore. I tried to look at them but when I moved I felt an unbearable pain in my spine.

I turned my head to the left to see what state Namjoon was left in, but my neck wouldn't move. All I could see from my peripheral vision was blood coming from an unknown cut around my eye. Panic began to flood my emotions. I couldn't move and the more I stayed in my position the more pain I felt.

"Namjoon..." I tried to speak but it came out more like a whimper. I wasn't even sure if he was awake.

"Jenny... I can't move... I think my spine is fractured." He whimpered out.

There was broken glass from my window and the front windshield. Pain was keeping me from moving my body. I wasn't even sure if I would survive this.
