🛡Serena's POV🛡

"But... how? Why?"

He chuckles, creating an even darker aura than before. His feet take him closer to me but my own draw me back. His eyes spark with anger at my movement. He stills acts the same with me after so long.

"Don't you move," he commands.

A frail whimper escapes as more memories are released. What else do I do but listen? He still holds power, after all these years, all this years without him. His eyes and temper are still the same, but his hair has aged just the same as his build. He does look stronger, but his skin is unhealthy. He hasn't grown height wise, yet he still towers over me.

"Now, do as I say and we won't have any problems." You are the problem. "I'll show you to Jacob, but you are to do as I say or he will die."

"O-okay."

His smiles his awful smile and turns us around, walking back down the stairs. His men stare at us, giving me goosebumps. My dad extracts keys from his front pocket, unlocking a door next to the stove. The stairs that lead down are rickety and chipped, and my father pushes me to go first. As I reach the last step, a light switch is flipped and a dull light falls over the room, revealing my boyfriend who is chained to the wall. Forgetting about my father's rules, I rush over to Jacob. I stroke his face with the tips of my fingers, reveling in his presence.

"Jacob," I whisper.

His eyelids twitch, followed by a groan. He opens his eyes after three long seconds. They widen as they focus on me.

"S-Serena?"

"Yes, Jacob, it's me."

"Oh, Princessa," he sighs, leaning his head to the side.

"No, stay with me."

He smiles weakly at me. "I love you."

My arms wrap around his torso carefully so I don't hurt him. "I love you too. Oh, how I love you."

A scream is released from me as my hair is pulled back. I'm thrown to the floor. I cry out as two kicks make contact with my stomach.

"I told you there were rules! Did I say you could go to him!?"

"N-no," I cry out.

"Leave her alone!" Jacob shouts, regaining a small percent of strength.

Whatever strength he had is taken away when he is punched in the stomach three times. My father faces me again, and I cower at the look he gives.

"Get up."

I obey him through the pain. My hand rests on my stomach as I an pushed to sit on a rusty chair.

"Now I have a proposition for you. You want your boy-toy released, yes?"

"Yes," I cough.

"I'll release him, but at a cost to you."

"What do you want?" A sniffle or two come from me as a myriad of ideas pop into my head.

"Five lashes for each chain that I unlock. Or, a gunshot to the stomach for him to be released at once."
