""As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love."
John 15:9-10 NIVJacob's POV
Lunch is finally here. I'm fucking done with school. Send me home. I could go for a three course meal and then pass out for the rest of the day. And to make everything worse, I didn't have Serena in any of my classes. I don't get it. I only just met her, and hadn't even had that long of a conversation with her. So why the hell can I not stop thinking about her? Cause you like her, dumbass. No I don't! How could I? Of all the girls I've been with and tossed aside so easily, how does one interaction (and not much of one) make her stay on my mind this long?
"Dude you good?" Danny asks, his hand waving in front of my face. "You've been spacing out a lot." Am I that obvious?
I push his hand away from me when Nick decides to chime in. "Yeah man... thinking about a certain brunette perhaps?"
A frown takes over my face. "No... Shut the hell up, both of you."
By the time they stop laughing at my expense, we make it to the lunch line and I grab a pepperoni pizza slice and a coke. Making my way to our table, empty how I like it, we sit and I take notice of what they chose. Danny's got a cheeseburger, fries, and a sprite; Nick chose a meatball sub with a Pepsi. In the corner of my eye, I can see Serena sit at a table with some other girls. Danny snickers and when I look over, I realize that he noticed me and where I was looking. Ah shit.
"Why don't you bring Serena over here, bro?" he teases.
"Yeah. She's just over there, loverboy." Nick adds.
"Fuck off." I'm already up and moving as they continue to make fun of me.
I can tell that the cafeteria is getting quieter as I walk across the room, everyone all fucking curious to what I'm doing. Nosy-asses. I make it to her from behind and in a split-second decision I grab her waist and lift her onto my shoulders. I can hear her shriek. Ignoring her and everyone around us and their shocked looks, I drop her in the chair next to mine and sit down.
"Hey girl," I grin.
"W-what do you want?" Aw she's nervous, how cute.
"Can't I just want to talk to you?" I ask. Her face twists in confusion which I understand, I guess. I didn't expect this, this morning.
"Sure, but did you have to kidnap me?" Funny.
"Eh, it's more fun this way," I laugh.
"Well not for me," she mumbles quietly. As if I'm not sitting right next to her.
"What was that?" Of course I heard her, but the opportunity to tease is too good to pass on.
"Oh nothing." Her tone is full of sarcasm and attitude. How adorable.
"Well aren't you a feisty one," Danny interjects. I look over to him to see his annoying smirk. I completely forgot that they were here.
"I'm Danny."
"And I'm Nick." How... oddly polite of him.
"Uh, I'm Serena?" Cute.
"Aw, how adorable." Yeah nevermind, Nick isn't polite. As if I didn't already know that, the ass.
"Well, I-I don't wanna be here anymore so, bye." My heart tenses. That was weird.
"You're not going anywhere." I tell her while grabbing her hips and move her onto my lap as she attempts to get up. Her body heat radiates and hits my chest, relaxing me almost instantly, oddly enough.
