LEO
After the discovery of the prophecy, we all head to our respective rooms for the night. We're heading out to the bunker in the morning, and it's quite a drive, so I immediately get ready for bed. I shed my clothes, and hop in the bed. I turn the light off and snuggle under the blanket. I close my eyes and wish for sleep. I toss and turn for awhile, my mind on Jessica. I'm not so sure we should have told her what Missouri told us. I feel like it was too much information to take in all at once.
It's only been a few short weeks and she finds out the supernatural world exists, there's a demon after her, her best is probably a ghost, and then we drop that little bomb on her. No wonder she asked to have some time without us bothering her.
I get up and go to my bathroom. Opening the medicine cabinet I grab the bottle of melatonin that is sometimes my best friend. I take one, letting it melt on my tongue, and dip my head under the faucet for a quick drink of water. Using the back of my hand, I wipe away any excess moisture, and head back to bed. I lie down and close my eyes, and wait for the medicine to kick in. I don't have long to wait before sleep claims me.
Eight a.m. and my alarm is blaring at me, at the same time Sm is banging on my door, telling me to get a move on.
"Alright, man! I'm up! You can stop banging on the door now!" I love my brother, but his incessant need to be early to everything drives me crazy. It's our bunker. It's not like we have an appointment or anything. There's nothing to be "on time" for in this situation, except his own time table. I get up and open the door, Sam standing there in mid-knock, and glare at him.
"Come on man, I want to be there by noon." He says, lowering his arm. I glance behind me at the alarm clock.
"That isn't going to happen unless we left five minutes ago. You'' have to settle or one o'clock instead." Dane walks behind him, chopping him on the back of the head.
"We're not on your timeline today, Sam. Stop rushing him." I give Sam a satisfied grin.
"Put some damn clothes on, Leo. Nobody wants to see your junk." Dane says, walking away. I reach down and scratch said junk, and shrug, closing the door.
I turn my iPod on and play some Godsmack as I take a shower and get ready. I'm pulling my shirt over my head when there's a knock at my door. Dane pokes his head in.
"Want an omelet?"
"Are you cooking it?" He gives me a cheesy grin.
"Maaaybe."
"Then, no, I'll make myself something in a minute."
"Shut up, Sam already made you one. I'm just fucking with you. Hurry up so we can go. I can't wait to ride four hours in the car. Again." He jokes. Yeah, it's going to be fun.
I finish getting dressed and go to the kitchen. I sit at the table and look at the plate in front of me. I eye the omelet warily, sniffing it to make sure there's nothing weird about it. Sam is laughing at me.
"Go ahead, man. It's safe. I promise." He tells me. I pick up my fork and dig in. Mushrooms, ham, and cheddar cheese exploding in my mouth. There's also some heat on the back end.
"What else is in here? There's some heat." I ask him after I swallow. I put another bite in my mouth.
"I mixed some cayenne pepper in with the eggs. Is it good?" I swallow again.
"It's really good. Pretty sure I'm going to need that in all my omelets from now on." I get up and grab myself some coffee before settling in to finish my food. After I'm done, I down the rest of my coffee and rinse my dishes in the sink before putting them in the dishwasher. Dane and Sam are already heading to the door. I grab my phone, wallet and keys and follow after them, locking the door behind me. We pile into the Jeep and head out. I pull up Spotify and put on my Rock playlist and sit back for the next few hours.
I fiddle with my phone. I pull up Facebook and look up Jessica's profile. She has it on lockdown, but I can see her profile and cover pictures. There are quite a few with her and a small blonde woman. I wonder if that's her friend Kriss. I scroll a little more and see a memorial picture. Yup, definitely Kriss. She looks like she was a spitfire. There are some other pictures of Jessica with a couple of other girls.
Then I come across some pictures of her hugging a giant of a man. Long blonde hair, a goatee, and covered in tats. Not as big as I am, and I have more tats, but he is intimidating. They are both smiling widely, and he is looking at her with love written all over his face. Is he her boyfriend? I don't remember her mentioning one, but that doesn't mean anything. I close out my phone before I can think too hard on it. That girl has gotten under my skin in no time.
Time flies the rest of the trip, and before I know it Sam is parking the Jeep in front of the bunker. I close out Spotify and take my earbuds out, stashing everything in my jeans pocket. We get out of the Jeep and climb the steps to get to the door.
When we first started coming here, we had a big old fashioned key that we used, and still can if we need to, but we upgraded, with a little help from Corey, to a key card system. Dane is pulling his out now to swipe us in. We all enter, the lights automatically turning on. From the outside it looks like a giant intimidating building, but it's anything but on the inside. There are two levels visible, but it also goes way down under ground for several levels.
When you enter, you actually enter above the main floor. We walks down the stairs. I take everything out of my pockets and toss them onto the map table and plop into one of the chairs. Thinking better of it, I go to the kitchen and grab a beer out of the fridge. I wander around a bit and stretch my legs from sitting so long. I go back into the main room. Sam and Dane are sitting at the map table, the copies of the things we took pictures of spread out over it.
"So what is it we're looking for exactly?" I ask as I take a seat.
"I don't know. One of us needs to go into the lower levels with the older shit and see if we can find anything about the prophecy I found."
"I'll go." Sam says, getting up. He disappears into the kitchen, where there's a small staircase that leads to the lower levels. I take a sip of my beer and look at Dane. He's off in La-La-Land again, and I have a sneaky suspicion where his mind is at.
"No use thinking about her, man." I say slapping him on he back, bringing him out of his stupor. He leans over and grabs a few of the papers and starts to look through them.
"She was as dumbfounded as me when I first heard about the prophecy Missouri told you guys. I hope she can come to terms with it. She's under my skin, and not in a bad way. I want to get to know her better. Just from our trip yesterday, it seems like she would be a good fit for ay of us." He laments.
"I don't know, D. Maybe because Missouri saw it, it will come to pass. Nothing about what she said said I was going to be an easy road. We just have to wait her out. Hopefully, she won't take too long." I shrug. There's nothing we can do about it right now anyway. Dane and I just sift through the papers for awhile. Before long, we hear Sam coming up the back stairs, and rom the sound of it, he's in a hurry. Maybe he found something. He comes hurrying into the room brandishing a very large book. Dane and I look at each other, him arching a single eyebrow.
Sam tosses the book onto the table, slightly out of breath from running up the many steps from where he was in the lower levels. I look at the book. Book Of Shadows is written across the front. I look at Sam, gesturing to the book.
"I found this in a box of stuff we took from a witches coven. It details all kinds of demons." He reaches over and turns to a page that had been bookmarked. There, in color, is our demon, with all the information pertaining to her. Except how to kill her. I look closer, and there is a little note at the bottom, with asterisk with the words "DEMON TABLET" written there. I look at Sam with astonishment. We have the Demon Tablet, as well as the Angel Tablet. They were entrusted to us by an angel friend.
"You know what this means, right? The only one who can read the tablets is a Prophet." Dane nods his head, already heading to the room he has here. The only way to contact and angel is to pray to one.
"He's going to pray to him right now isn't he?" He asks me.
"Yeah. We need to find the current Prophet and the only one we can trust to do it is Castiel."
