JESSICA
I shot a text to Dane about an hour ago about meeting up and talking, but I still haven't heard anything. I spend my free time looking over classes for next semester. If I had gone this semester at all, I would be graduating in the spring; but since I took this semester off, I'll be graduating next December. It's all fine with me. I'll get my degree in Social Work and be able to work with kids. I haven't decided if I want to moved forward to a Master's or Doctorate. We'll see what life has in store for me.
About two hours after my phone chimes a text message.
DANE: I would love to get together and talk!
ME: Fantastic! Can you meet me tonight?
DANE: Unfortunately not tonight. I'm in Lebanon, KS at our HQ. I can meet you tomorrow any time after 2.
I think about what i have going on tomorrow. Not really much. Volunteering at the shelter and going to the library to change out my books.
ME: I'm free anytime after 3 :)
DANE: I'll text you when I'm back in town ;)
A winky face? What the hell? i shrug. I'm not even going to try to decipher what that means. There's already too many mysteries. I go about my day, taking my mixture and getting ready for bed. It's nice not having demon bitch all up in my dreams, but it sucks not being able to have them altogether. It feels rather lonely.

I finish up at my shift at the shelter, and go home to shower really quick before I go to the library. As I'm pulling up to a parking meter, my phone chimes.
DANE: Back in town. Can meet in about an hour.
I put the car into park and turn it off before answering him.
ME: Perfect timing. I'm just going into the library real quick to exchange some books.
DANE: The downtown library? the one that looks like a bookshelf?
I laugh a little and I juggle the books in my hands, my bag and my phone.
ME: Yes
DANE: Can I just meet you there? They have little tables and things out of the way we can talk at, right?
ME: Sure. Let me know when you get here and I'll let you know where I am in the library.
DANE: See you soon.
I juggle my phone into my bag, and heft it over my shoulder. I head inside and return the books I brought back. I head over to the manga section. there's one I've heard talked about in a couple of groups I'm in on Facebook that I want to try out. I'm searching the stacks, when my eye finally catches the title. Oruan Highschool Host Club. I'm searching for Issue one, but the first one they have is Issue seven. I go to the online card catalogue to see if maybe the others are checked out already. They aren't.
I go to the clerk manning the help desk and ask if they can order them in, or borrow them from another library. I give him the title and Issue numbers, as well as my name and contact information. He says they will either call or email me when they come in. Since I was the one who requested them, and I have a perfect borrowing score, they will hold them until I can pick them up and read them before anyone else.
I go browse a little more, picking up random books here and there. I check out and grab a coffee from the cafe inside. I lug everything to a table upstairs and in an alcove. I start reading one of my books while I wait for Dane. I don't have long to wait.
