CHAPTER 19 | Action-packed, Let's Go Back!
My mind was in the midst of nothing when a soft whisper came out of nowhere.
"Wake up, Angeli," says a tiny voice. "Wake up, sleepy head."
A few seconds passed and the clarity of the voice became clear. I felt soft, tiny fingers caress my skin before they opened one of my eyes very wide. The bright light shone through the drawn curtains and onto my eyes. The blinding light stung my eyes, causing it to water a little.
I quickly turned my head towards the other direction, away from the sunlight. A cute giggle sounded from behind me, and the head of Angela popped out. "Wake up, Angeli. Today is sister-bonding day!"
I slowly got out of bed with Angela and headed towards the bathroom. "Can you wait for me downstairs? I am going to get ready, and so should you."
Angela nodded in response and skipped out of my room. Her cheeriness in the morning brought a smile onto my face.
I walked into the restroom and took a shower. After getting done, I stepped out and went over to my closet to pick out an outfit to wear. Because the winter season brought cool breezes and piles of snow, I decided to wear my tribal jumper and some black leggings. I headed to my dresser and blow-dried my hair. Afterwards, I braided it into a fishtail, and I put on some minimal makeup. After putting on my fashion glasses, I looked at the mirror and flashed a smile. I exited my room with my necessities and sauntered down the staircase. I entered the kitchen to find Angela eating pancakes in her pastel pink dress with leggings.
"Sean, mommy, and daddy went to the office early this morning," Angela says and stuffs pancakes into her mouth. Some syrup dribbled down her chin, and I let out a laugh while a wiped it away with a napkin.
I took a seat next to her on the table and grabbed some pancakes for myself. Both Angela and I finished our pancakes and headed out the door afterwards towards the garage. Sean said I can pick any vehicle whenever I needed to go out, so I picked out one of the Range Rovers. Angela and I got in and I drove to the mall.
As soon as we arrived at the mall, Angela frantically dragged me towards the arcade. I chuckled along the way as I took in the excitement radiating from the little sister. We sauntered towards the token machine to receive our bag of coins. I then followed Angela to almost every single game machine so she could earn her tickets for a prize.
For about a half an hour, both Angela and I had tons of fun. Although I am now an adult, I felt like a little kid again when I engaged in the fun games Angela played in. I watched Angela take the skeeball from my hand and run towards the hole where she would drop the ball for the highest point. The machine spouted dozens of tickets where Angela happily gathered in her ticket bag. In addition to this, we both played Deal or No Deal in where we won with a jackpot of tickets. My favorite game was Area 51 in where we both shot off the unearthly creatures in an abandoned warehouse.
"Can I get my stuffed unicorn now?" Angela asks holding up her huge bag of tickets.
I nodded in response and headed towards the ticket-shredder. As soon as we received the number of tickets we accumulated, we headed to the prize counter.
"Can I have the stuffed unicorn please?" Angela says as she hands the lady the paper.
The lady took a look of the number of tickets printed on the paper and towards the unicorn on the shelf. She takes out a calculator and started punching buttons before showing it to us. "I am afraid you ladies are sixty-seven tickets short."
Angela looks up with me with those puppy eyes and asks, "Can we play some more, please?"
I squatted to her height and respond, "I am sorry Angela but I don't have enough money. We still have to buy ourselves some lunch."
