|CHAPTER NINETEEN|

6 years later

"Where the hell are you?! I wake up to see your note beside the bed saying that you went out. Where are you!? We have a meeting in an hour!" I scoffed at Sean's such demands.

"Just chilling and relaxing at Central Park," I retorted. "Sketching the view to be exact. Problem?" A smirk seemed to appear on my face.

"Where exactly are you at in Central Park?"

Should I tell him? Eh, what the heck. I should make him chase after me instead.

"Near Wollman Rink. Why?"

"Stay there! I'll be there in a few minutes." I threw my phone on my lap after I heard the other line clicked.

"I hate my life," I mumbled.

I returned to my sketch book as I picked up my pencil and started outlining the view in front of me. Little kids laughed as they attempted to skate on ice and failed miserably on their butt. Couples held hands as they managed to balance each other on ice.

Unlike the couples, my relationship with Sean is full of flaws. We would fight at the most stupidest things and end up not talking unless one of us needs to break the ice if it was necessary. At nights, I would decide to come home drunk and wailing out insults at Sean. Nights, I would cry myself to sleep feeling lonely and unloved. I feel like we both refuse to hold out to each other and help balance through all difficulties in life. I feel like the ice beneath my feet will soon break and I will fall through lonely and die. My life description.

Tears brimmed the corners of my eyes. I packed away my sketchbook and shoved it in my bag.

Time for the chase to start!

A sudden gust of wind blew my papers.. towards the ice rink! I slung my bag over my shoulder and sprinted towards the rink. I jumped over the barrier onto the ice. I slid on the ice and fell hard on my butt.

"Lady! Stop! You need to pay!" I looked at my right to see a man in uniform precariously running across the ice towards me. I jumped up and chased after my sketch. "Get over here! Yo lady!"

I bumped into a middle-aged lady, and the lady gave me a dirty look. "Sorry!" I reinstated my gaze back towards the sketch. Suddenly, a little boy skid in my path. I tried to dodge, leaving me falling and crashing into a guy.

I moaned in pain. To my right, a guy laid looking at me. Blue-green eyes. My killer!

I hastily got up and apologized to the guy. "I am soo sorry. Please excuse me." I ran away with fear. The guy who wanted to kill me. The guy who is associated with Stacey.

I finally spotted my paper which was idly laying on the ground. As I picked it up, a hand rested on mine. I look up to see Sean. Uh-oh.

"Angeli. Stop with your shenanigans and let's go," said Sean with gritted teeth. He pulled me up and dragged me across the ice.

"What shenanigans?" I playfully asked. He halted in his tracks and glared at me. I gulped with fear and nervosity by Sean's sudden death-expression.

"Don't you play dumb with me Angeli. How dare you attempt to play a chase with me. You tried it not once, but twice with me before!"

"I was trying to put you up on a chase! My sketch was just blown towards the rink. I happened to be chasing after it!" I protested. "Don't believe me? Like I care." I twirled around and walked away. A sudden grip pulled me back towards Sean.
