|CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE|
Friday, the 13th of June in the year 2014.
Is it just me, or do I have a bad intuition of today? Maybe, the reason is that today is Friday the thirteenth. Maybe, it is just paranoia, but I still couldn't get this feeling out of me.
I quickly shoved the thoughts into the back of my mind and resumed to getting ready for the wedding. I dressed myself into a blue dress to match the color scheme. I gathered all my hair and twirled it into a fancy up-do. I spread my make-up kit across my dresser and started applying all make-up onto my face. Soon after an hour or so, I was finally ready.
I went to check on Sean and Thomas to see if they were dressed up and ready to go as I am. After seeing that they were, I walked up to Sean and gave him a hug.
"Emily. Are your ready?" Sean asked. I nodded in response.
The three of us got into the car and drove off to the wedding venue.
Soon, we arrived at the venue. The burst of colors from the plants reached my sight. Yes, the venue was at an indoor garden pavilion.
Luscious, green plants and colorful blossoms peeked from everywhere. The setting sunlight beamed through the transparent glass walls. Balls of lights hung from above, lighting the room from darkness. A blue carpet was rolled down in an aisle towards the front. Rows of chairs occupied by some guests were at both sides.
Sean, Thomas, and I took our seats and waited for the ceremony to begin. After waiting for about half an hour, the ceremony finally began.
The little flower girls dressed in blue, chiffon dresses skipped through the aisle, throwing rose petals into the air which soon settled on the carpet. The bridesmaids and their partners walked down the aisle next. Following after them, the maid of honor with the best man came walking. Next, the ring barriers came strolling after them. The rings glittered under the sunlight, sparkling like diamonds.
Then, all heads turned back towards the back of the room, watching Stacey as she began her walk towards the alter. Her father was walking alongside with her. Soon, both of them reached the altar where Brandon took Stacey's hand from her father. Both of the weds and their parents shared their hugs and kisses before the mass started.
I anticipatedly listened to the mass until the moment where the priest spoke those words.
"Should anyone oppose this marriage? Speak now or forever hold your peace."
My heart was beating loudly and quickly. Beads of sweat trickled down my forehead.
"This is it," I whispered.
The crowd gasp as I stood up and raised my hand. "I oppose this marriage of Brandon and Stacey!" I said loud enough for all guests in the room to hear.
Stacey looked at me with a shocked expression as Brandon glared daggers at me. I confidently walked from my seat towards the altar where Stacey and Brandon were currently standing.
"Brandon. Are you really sure you would love to spend the rest of your lifetime with that she-devil? I wouldn't want you to be tortured in hell. Was your drink spiked, and the effect hadn't worn off yet?" I turned to Stacey. "Stacey, I never knew you can make such hallucination last that long. So, I guess you scored top at Witch Academy. Well, you did learn from the best."
"You bii- no! I won't cuss in front of the altar."
I laughed hysterically. "Well, refusing from doing a sin doesn't lessen your list of reasons of why you should go hell."
